Grammar Police - A plea

I agree, OP, except when the person making the error is condescendingly calling someone stupid, or pontificating about their own high level of intelligence. Anyone saying "Your an idiot" absolutely needs to be called out

This is just funny!

Finger pointing at finger pointing! DC's newest blood sport!

A sweeping study of 83 whole people!

Researchers gathered 83 people

Details and facts are a waste of time and usually don't conform to my narrative. They're petulant.

Do you know what petulant means? It doesn't really work here.

Yes. I do. And details like that are childish and bad-tempered. They don't agree with what I want them to say.

Thanks for asking, though!

This is the link OP - I posted in jest. The imposter is ruffling your feathers, with delight.

Homophone misuse is my pet peeve. I saw a game at Verizon Center years ago. I have no idea if it was hockey or basketball. All I can remember is reading "We can't here you!" on the Jumbotron.

I heart you.

What I really don't like is when store or restaurant owners have signs with mistakes. It's so inappropriate.

Agreed! Or websites, marketing materials. I definitely judge a business if poor grammar and/or typos permeate the business communication.

Some of the posts on DCUM are barely intelligible because of typos and errors in grammar and usage. That makes me cringe.

WAMU from NPR just ran a story on "fair machines" inside metro stations. I cringed. I'm sure it's been fixed by now, but come on!

It could be accurate. We know the fare machines aren't fair. They charge too much for crappy service and that fare is not fair!

I think.

I have to admit that sometimes, I feel like this:

But I still think it's obnoxious to point it out.

Of all the grammar police, the who/that enforcers are the worst.

Don't use your phone, and you will not have a problem.

Another solution, re-read your post before putting your finger on the post button.

To the PP that posted the Weird Al video, well done. I saw him in concert last year at Wolf Trap, very entertaining.
