| $3k in 2010. We picked it together, and it was based on size of diamond that looked good on her hand. She didn't want anything too big that would get caught on stuff. I forget my income back then.. probably $100-200k (I own a business so I don't take a paycheck, just profits). |

| Just got engaged after 10 years living together. Ring $8k. I'm not an extravagant girl and I would have been happy with something vintage or quirky, but he says that I was worth something pretty after living together so long. It's the only jewelry I wear other than earings. |

No engagement ring- I don't like diamonds and we like spending our money on travel.
I bought my own wedding ring ($350) because I couldn't decide/find one that fit my personality we finally decided on a Russian rolling ring. We have been married happily for over 20 years. Do what fits your budget and your taste. |

| Travel to the Caribbean if you want good deals on diamonds. DH bought my band and the carat separate paid about 4k total. Brought it back to the states and had it put together and appraised for 6k. |

I think my husband spent $2k on my engagement ring, which seemed like too much (there was a $700 vintage ring, no diamonds, I thought we should get instead). It's a nice artsy ring that I rarely wear.
Rings - I bought his for about $500 I think, from an Etsy dealer. Mine was similarly priced, I believe. We both wear our wedding rings every day. Salary at the time was maybe $120k combined. |
