How much was your salary? |
| We spent 5k on the a ring, 2k on his wedding ring and 1k on mine. Hhi 230k about evenly split. My ring is a big one but we went with an alternative stone |
What was the alternative stone? |
| 2.5k. But her center stone was an inherited 1.5 carat diamond from her grandmother. |
Tbh, it sounds like the market has spoken. |
A lot...but she lost it...still looking for it now...it looks like this...let me know if you find it....it very precious |
Sapphire, 2.5 carats |
| I picked it out, a vintage sapphire in platinum setting, I think it was just under 2k. I also picked out a matching vintage wedding band, which was 600$. He chose a 60$ titanium band and bought a back up in case he lost one. our finances had just been commingled, so I would say that "we" bought it together. He was willing to spend more, but after one afternoon looking at traditional rings, I was underwhelmed. |

$4000 engagement.
$100 or so wedding band |
| In 2010 |
| $0. Wouldn't have any interest in marrying the sort of woman who expected one. |
|
Engagement ring: $500, no diamonds, at my request (I said no engagement ring was fine--he was nervous about taking me at my word). Lost it sometime after we got married.
Wedding rings, I paid for: $200 plain gold band for him, $150 white gold ring for me which made me break out. Got another rose gold for $300, it also made me break out. Now I wear a plain gold band I got from his mom... when I wear a ring at all. I find them annoying. He initially said he didn't want a wedding band, I said, "how about something just for the ceremony" -- but he never takes his off, after almost 12 years together. |
$0.00 - Family ring |
| $6k for the engagement ring. $500 for the wedding band. I should have spent about $100 total if I had a brain. |
| I didn't give her an an engagement ring. I was poor. I still am, thanks to her! |
