But it looks pretty much like anyone with a 3.3 and 1800 got in.

is that recent?

Happy to have you as partners.

Btw... UMD had the most big ten titles in all sports last year.. And we are in the national title picture in men's basketball , women's basketball , men's soccer, men's and women's lacrosse , field hockey.

Michigan in zero title contention!!

Interesting...At my kids school a local WCAC, UMCP accepted about 50% - that's roughly 250 out of 500 over 4/5 years.

Universities also have quotas or targets or geographic diversity based on high schools. An MCPS student at a "W" school would need to be more qualified than a student at a rural Maryland school.

UMD lightens up on WCAC for goodwill and hope to get the A+ athletes.

There is a lot of subjectivity in the admissions process. Plus temporary help. Throw in the schools target groups and there is a big gray area on who get in and who doesnot

And the kids wear ties for 4 years and are forced to study. Every university in the country wants them on their teams. They are not the illiterates that go to UNC.

At my DCs MCPS school the acceptance rate was 77% last year. I don't know the specific GPA stats. About 50% of the class applies to UMD although a much smaller percentage attend.

UMD has 4 Dematha kids and 2 good counsel kids coming in football and 1 saint Johns kid in basketball plus 2 more Carroll kids in football and maybe 1 more St. John's kid in football .

Kevin plank is turning his alma mater St Johns into a underarmour super UMD feeder school in football basketball and lacrosse.

SAT. ACT

UMD 1340. 32
Ucla. Not rep. 31
Unc. 1315. 32
Wisc. 1255. 29
Ill. 1345. 29

All other Big ten schools are lower than UMD ,Wisconsin and Ill except NW and Mich.

Makes sense. Md has a highly educated an rich population compared to other states and with alumni like Brin/Henson /Chung /Dipandi/Fiorina/O malley/Hoyer/Esiason/Plank and Bernstein , all the national championships and the preppy lacrosse vibe it's a special place.
