| Katrina. Which is too bad, because it's a pretty name. |
Was he born before 9/11/2001? I presume people stopped using this name after that time, like Katrina after the Hurricane. |
Say wha? The whole bible is Christian. Old AND New Testament. It's an Old Testament story, but yes, it is one that Christians are taught. |
Jews are taught it as well. |
Of course different religions have different opinions about what the "whole bible" consists of. For example, for Christians, Genesis is a book in the Old Testament. For Jews, Bereshit is a book in the Torah. In any case, Christians do not have a monopoly on the text (whatever name you may give it) that the story of Cain and Abel is in. |
I didn't say they weren't...someone argued it wasn't a Christian bible story. Correct me if I'm wrong, but those of the Jewish faith only learn the Old Testament, right? |
1. The story of Cain and Abel is in what Christians consider the Old Testament. 2. Jews don't have an "Old Testament". |
Ok. I'm not trying to cause trouble here. Yes, I do realize that Jews don't consider it the Old Testament. That is just the terminology that seems easiest here when talking about this particular story. It is in the text that Christians call the Old Testament. I just thought it was odd that someone said that the story wasn't Christian. |
Rully? You know "people" named Adolf? As in more than one Adolf? |
I know Adolfs plural yes. Dh is in the FS, and we lived in Austria. Definitely more common there but it still carries a negative association IMHO. |
| Gwyneth. Gwyneth Paltrow totally ruined that name - and it's a lovely name. |
I always think this is a bit strange. I considered a similar issue with my daughter's name and decided it wouldn't matter eventually. The kids in her age bracket aren't going to know these people - only the adults. As for Gweneth, I prefer her momma's name

^^This is a really good point. |
