Thank you!

Also, keep in mind that if folks ranked MV 1 or 2 and are offered a spot and accept, they will drop off all of the waitlists for schools they ranked lower. This will likely have a trickle down effect on waitlist movement at a bunch of schools.

I am a parent at a non-immersion charter and I am glad to see that more folks who really want immersion are getting immersion slots at younger grade levels. I think it will have a positive impact on the stability of cohorts at all schools.

I think #17 for 3rd grade is unlikely. Movement would have stabilized by now for bigger shifts.

I just noticed we're now in the top 20 for MV pk4. Has most of the movement happened already? Or is there a chance they'd actually get through almost 20 more names?

I think there may be a chance, as anyone who is now getting into MV likely has good enough numbers that they have already gotten into another good school, and they may be committed enough to that choice to not want to switch at this point.

That's where she started. She hasn't checked since the initial lottery.

What the pp said still applies. By 3rd grade families are typically stable.

My MV PK4 number moved again today. I can't believe it has moved almost 70 places. I thought with a low 100s we had no chance, but here we are.

What does it mean when the WL moves so swiftly. Are folks declining the school? Makes me a little concerned if at #50, 49 others have to decline the slot. If the WL isn't moving does it mean all slots are pretty much filled? I'm fried.

MV opened up more spaces for PK3/4 to accomodate the budget "shortfall" they were facing this year, but families are declining spaces as well.

This may be a win win to add students early on instead of K or higher to ensure students have had prior Spanish immersion.

Not necessarily. If they get matched at another school that they ranked higher, then they are taken all the lower wait lists. So it's likely that most of the people who are taken off the wait list are not "declining the school"-- in fact they may have never gotten a call from the school at all.
