If you look amazing, believe me they really won't care how short your hair is.

I am the poster who had short hair for years (until I got too old!) and believe me I had PLENTY of male attention during those years.

It is a man turn-off.

You would have looked more amazing, and gotten much more male attention, if you hadn't cut it short.

But if you want to repel men with an aggressively unsexy haircut, go right ahead.

LOL, why such a hater? If its really that terrible isn't it just more attention for your flowing locks?

I agree with men it is either a love it/hate it situation. My husband loves short hair, but mine is long, to his chagrin.

Hilarious that the hater hates it so badly. Also you have no idea how many man I would have or did attract. Only I know that.

I have had that short Pixie cut for three or four years. Men stop me quite often to compliment my hair. It is so freak'n easy to maintain (with cuts every 4-5 weeks). But, in general, I do believe that most men prefer longer hair.

Find a stylist who is good with short hair -- you may need to switch stylists in order to get a really good short cut. I highly recommend Tom at Chaos in Bethesda.

Men in Europe are a lot less boring and conventional about women's hair length.

right

b/c that's every women's goal in life - to be a whore for all men!

Thanks, Dr. Laura

Wish I could do this. It's so cute. I have a pretty face (I think) but I think this cut looks best on women who have very small features. And who are thin. Delicate women.

I'm not butch but I'm not one with delicate features. This cut I am sure would make me look butch and unattractive. There's a pretty woman in my office who just did this and the reaction is more "yikes" than "cute!".

I'm envious of women who can do it though!

Women love it when another woman gets one, it reduces their ranking therefore boosting their own.

I only say this because I could wear this cut for years and years and no I can't because I am 46 and it would make me look butch. That's ok if you want to look butch, but I don't.

Ok I see a lot of women posting what men think about short cuts. Where are the men?

Do it! I finally did it last summer and don't regret it. I'm growing it out now and there are some awkward times, but a good hair dresser will help get you through them. I recommend Immortal Beloved on 14th St... they have several stylists who focus on short hair and everyone I see when I go in for my appointments looks amazing.

My husband was completely supportive when I got a pixie. Yea, he prefers long hair slightly, but so what? He knows what I look like with long hair, now he knows what I look like with short hair. It's hair. It grows back. And having once had long hair himself, he completely understood the desire to get rid of it.

You never mentioned worrying what men will think so I'll assume it's not an issue for you. Maybe your married to decent human being who won't cheat just because you have short hair for a year or two. Or maybe you're not married at all but don't want to date the type of men who only date women with long hair.

Or maybe you don't want to date men at all. Either way, power to you! Style your hair the way you want to - whether its for fashionable or practical reasons.

I have to say, anyone over 20 should not be wearing a ponytail. Ponytails and pigtails are for kids. I know I'm not in the majority thinking this but grown women with ponytails look ridiculous. (I am not the pixie cut hating troll by the way, I had a pixie cut for years!)
