Are you under the impression that female actresses are paid equally to their male counterparts?

You might want to go back and look through some of the hacked Sony documents.

Exactly. The sad fact is wage inequality is happening t every level.

Male porn stars only make around $40,000/year, while female porn stars can make up to $250,000/year (en.wikipedia.org)

Totally agree. If she feels so strongly about it why doesn't she assign herself a wage of $25 an hour, keep track of all hours she worked for rehearsing, filming, promotion of films, and then donate the rest to the blue collar workers.

Again, you are missing the point. It is that men who perform the same work get paid more.

Wow. As a woman, I suddenly feel so empowered.

Get used to it. This trend is expected to continue. Wage gap expected to flip.

Well, exactly. Have you not been paying attention? The Sony Pictures hack revealed an enormous wage gap in Hollywood. Not just among actors (I'm sorry, Amy Adams paid much less for American Hustle than Jeremy Renner?!), but among the suits as well.

http://fusion.net/story/30886/why-the-sony-pictures-salary-list-should-be-public/

http://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2014/12/17/stop-denying-the-gender-pay-gap-exists-even-jennifer-lawrence-was-shortchanged/

In [Jennifer] Lawrence, we have a highly talented woman who is single with no children, and — as evidenced by her success — extremely hardworking. She likely has a team of agents, managers and lawyers who advocate for her best interests in production deals, representatives not only skilled at negotiations but presumably well-informed on prevailing compensation standards in the industry. And yet, she’s still paid as though she’s less valuable than her male co-workers, who performed the same job she did. How much less was she to be paid? What’s the difference between 7 points and 9 points? Yup, about 23 percent.

Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams aren’t average women; they have far more power and resources to ensure they are paid what they are worth. So if, despite that, they still get paid just 77 cents for every $1 their male counterparts make, ordinary women negotiating on their own for an hourly wage as a cashier or an annual salary as a mid-level manager don’t stand a chance. If the pay gap is so flagrantly affecting one of Hollywood’s biggest female stars, can there be any doubt it’s also affecting typical working women — probably far worse?

Wake up and smell the coffee.

This makes zero sense. How would volunteering to make less than her male costars do anything to address the wage gap? It is not up to Patricia Arquette to pay a fair wage to working women.

Exactly. If Jennifer Lawrence, who is probably the most powerful actress alive right now, cannot negotiate an equal salary to lesser knowns like Jeremy Renner, how exactly is the average woman supposed to?

This is an issue that affects all women, from the top levels to the bottom. And it's about time someone spoke up about it.

Since you feel so strongly that no one should have abortions, why haven't you adopted any unwanted babies?

Why doesn't she feel compelled to share her $300,000 an episode she makes on "medium" with her crew who make about one percent of her pay? Talk about hypocrisy...

What is hypocritical about advocating that women should be paid equal to their male counterparts?

If anything would be hypocritical, it would be taking her well deserved wage and passing it out to others for the simple fact that she's a female.
