"MORMONS AND RELIGION
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the official name of the religion commonly called the Mormon Church. We believe first and foremost that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and the Son of God.

While our backgrounds and experiences are diverse, Mormons are united by a commitment to Jesus Christ. This site features members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sharing their stories and telling what their faith means to them."

Or go to a Mormon ward service and see for yourself. It's obviously not a Christian denomination. And that's ok! Not everything has to be.

right, disregard facts and go to a service and "see for yourself" that it's what pp says it is. It's not just "OK" with pp that moronism is not christianity, it's essential to pp that people disregard how Mormons perceive themselves and instead see it pp's way - the ONE TRUE WAY?

My goodness! If you truly believe that the "facts" you noted from the Mormon website are correct, why on earth would you be concerned with someone attending a service? Anyone that attends a service or, even better, a sacrament meeting, would be capable of making their own conclusions about the LDS faith. Isn't Taft what all that "free agency" is for PP?

the official Mormon website is the most accurate source of what Mormons believe. They believe they are Christians. If you don't think so, fine, but that is your personal opinion.

Some people don't think Roman Catholics are Christians, but that doesn't change the fact that they are Christian -- and were long before the various Protestant denominations. And it says nothing about the validity of Catholic beliefs. The same holds for any other religion.

I'll take my 32 years as a Mormon over the website. Thanks!

Have you ever been to a traditional Christian church pp? The differences are apparent. I was very surprised at just how different they were the first time I went. I think that's why people do not accept that Mormonism is a form of Christianity. Just trying to explain that a bit.

There are also huge differences among other Christian denominations - but they are still Christian.

The differences between Christian denominations are minor compared to the difference between Christiantiy and Mormonism.

Just a few examples:
-Mormons believe salvation is earned by good works. Christians believe salvation is given by belief in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
-Mormons believe Jesus is a spirit brother to Satan. Christians believe Jesus is God's only son. Same name, totally different meaning.
-Ever notice that Mormons don't wear or include a cross on any buildings? The meaning of the cross is fundamental to all Christian denominations.
-Mormons believe that god (which they refer to as Heavenly Father) is the god of our planet and that one day a man can become a god his own planet. He can bring his wife with him (she cannot attain this level of heaven herself, thus part of the OP's question about women wanting this "priesthood"), and there they will produce spirit babies that will some day take human form on this new planet.

To the Mormon on here, please feel free call me out on anything.

Don't be fooled by semantics and appearances. Mormonism is its own religion apart from Judaism, Christianity, Islam, etc.

NP here. I didn't know that God was the Heavenly Father of earth and there are other Heavenly Fathers out there. Is there no uber God in Mormonism or is it monotheistic only with respect to earth but not to the universe.

don't be fooled by the semantics and appearances of any religion.

Only be fooled by pp -- keeper of all knowledge.

Every single thing that 13:35 said is correct. It is doing a disservice to your religion and your own morality to try to discount those things PP. Your BOM or D&C can help set you straight if you are confused about such things.

I feel sorry for Kate Kelly and the other members of OW. How sad to have a church you so love tell you you are not worthy because of your gender.

This is when some people start to realize that "God's will" is really "Powerful men's will" and start reassessing the whole god idea.

I'm not 13:35 at all. I'm 10:48 and 11:51. But you are a bit scary. You can't be a very faithful member if you can't admit these truths about your religion. Your dedication to denial is actually quite frightening.

somehow you assume the person who wrote that is a mormon? How could you possibly think you'd know that?
