Here's what has worked for me. I am eating Lean Cuisine meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner (3 total in a day). And I am eating tons of fresh salad made of veggies and fruits- cucumber, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, ginger, sprouts, spinach, avocado, papaya, guava, apples, melons, berries, grapes etc. Use lime/lemon juice as dressing and some sea salt. It is delicious and you will lose weight!

| I feel like I need to thank all my defenders--I posted the blueberry tip. Even though I am "stupid," I will say I have lost six pounds in two weeks with a diet that includes at least two cups a day of blueberries. I just love berries in the summer. Berries with yogurt, plain berries, berries in salads, berries with whipped cream. I digress....Anyway, I think the key to weight loss though is planning--know what you will be eating for the day and prep things in advance. If you have a huge salad with grilled chicken ready to go, much easier to avoid grabbing that bag of Doritos. I also recommend regular exercise--whatever type doesn't make you ravenous. For me, for example, running on a hot day makes me lose my appetite, but I am starving after I swim. I think it is different for everyone. This thread has put me in the mood for grapes. Just to shock those low sugar posters, maybe I will even freeze a (stage whisper) banana. |
Isn't this a lot of sodium? The fresh foods you are eating do sound delicious. I worry about the amount of sodium in cottage cheese! |
| Get your kid on a summer swim team, then stand around every Saturday for 4-5 hours in the heat. It will make you feel nauseous and knock you out energy-wise for the rest of the weekend. Food will be the last thing on your mind! |

I'm the pp who keeps calling it bar... That's how the studio calls it I'm not referring to Barre as a whole but to bar method studio I go to. I think they call it after Burr Leonard the founder.

I am "skinny" and here are my three tips:
Brush, floss, mouthwash your teeth right after dinner (I do it when I give my youngest a bath) so that youre not tempted to grab a snack at 9,10,11 pm. Walk as much as possible--get off the metro a stop early and walk to the office, walk during lunch, walk your kid to that playdate, to the playgound, etc. Just about everyone I know tries to find the 1.5 hour in their day to drive to the gym, workout and shower there. I spend that time walking. Drink lots and lots of water all day long. |
