What years are the "aging years" ( for women)

Anonymous
48 right now. Look years younger. Feel years older.

Internally I am falling apart due to medical reasons. Externally I look good, as long as I do not have to exert myself.

I do not give a d*** how I look, I want to be alive and well for my school age kids...

It's probably the menopause years, it would make sense that once you can't produce, the body/face doesn't need to look attractive anymore.

Does it really matter? I'm going to try to accept aging, but I will admit that I'm vain.

Well that's it. Time for the buzz cut, 24 hour wearing of overalls, and definitely no more shaving and waxing. Anywhere. That includes the moustache.

Mee too! I am not an exercise junkie. I hope I can stay motivated. Down 12 pounds since December.

Good luck to you.

NP. Congratulations on your weight loss! Like the pp, I have to start taking better care of myself by exercising.

Aging doesn't stress me that much. I'm 48 and no I don't look 25, I never will look 25 again. I'm cool with that.

i do sort of resent the pressure that "society" likes to place on women to "maintain" their looks. So many value judgments based on physical appearance alone. It's sad.

I turn 50 next month (can't believe I'm actually writing that!), and when I told someone the other day, they thought I was 38-39. I don't feel 50, more like 40. I keep hearing 50 is the new 40!!!

I do lots of chemical peels, exercise, retinoids, etc. I'm hoping to age gracefully.

I think things turned for me around 38 / 39 (I'm 40 now). I look my age now. Before then I think I looked younger than my years - people would always assume I was in my late 20s / early 30s. Lines have appeared, my skin doesn't have the glow it once did, I can see the sun damage.

Ugh, just writing this is depressing me.

It's true. Evolution doesn't care about feelings or vanity. Evolution is very politically incorrect and rude. It makes women unbangable once the odds go up for unviable offspring. Fighting it would be a full time job like show business . Beautiful women are often unrecognizable as they age. It's awful and if they are feminists on top if it, they we lose 100% of any attractiveness we ever had to men.

I just turned 38 so I'll be watching my face very closely!

I do have several things going for me: I'm Asian and have always tended to look younger. Also, I have very few gray hairs, though I know that will change. Finally, I've had, and still have, very oily skin. When I was younger, I had really bad acne and spent much of my late teens/early 20s on acne medication. The combo of retinoids AND greasy skin meant that I now have almost no wrinkles. I certainly paid for it early on, though, with terrible zits; I guess no wrinkles is my consolation prize for the bad skin.

Really, get over it. People age. It is creepy to look 20 years younger than you actually are. Just be the best version of "you" at the age you are. Be healthy, stay active in mind, body and heart. The rest really doesn't matter.

i just feel that at this age there is so much more to me than looks and whether or not I'm "bangable". Even if I LOOKED like a hot 20 something now, it wouldn't be the same. I wouldn't be going out to clubs, flirting with men...

I'm o.k. with being less (visually) bangable.

I think we'd all love to age gracefully, PP! I look back at pictures from the year I was engaged and married, and I don't think anyone would have guessed I was 33 at the time; I too always looked younger than my years. As other PPs have mentioned, I feel like I aged 10 years in the time it took me to deliver a baby. I AM healthy and active in mind, body, and heart, but unfortunately that hasn't reversed the uneven skin, baggy eyes, and spider veins that have magically appeared in the past couple of years....

I think it totally depends on the woman and is highly related to sun exposure, stress and genes.

If a woman looked 20, had the youthful energy and maturity of age without any feminism . She's getting banged...end of story . Lol
