Sort of. Most of the booster trolls here are negative on anyone who has concerns or questions about their school. They have a common refrain: not every school is a good fit for every student. That's a booster troll and they are pretty easy to spot. |
It's one thing to have legitimate questions but it's another thing to wrap an attack in a question or to try and sow bogus controversy about a school, in which case don't be surprised when someone steps up to debunk and clarify. And, who better to clear the air than someone who actually has firsthand knowledge of the school. A second hand opinion will fall short of first-hand knowledge every time. And, by the way, NO, not every school is a good fit for every student. |
Would it be OK to retaliate to these kind of posts by using the N word???... Just wondering why I, who am not American and very sympathetic to left leaning causes in general, have to take this abuse. |
Learn what the term snowflake means before you respond again |
Stand by my previous comment. Lumping people in "dehumanizing" categories is wrong. Even snowflake. |
Maybe it was too much of a jump for the underdevelped poster's brain |
I don't use term, but I don't think it refers to ethnicity. I take it to be referncing an attitude that your child is singular and would melt away if conditions weren't just right for his/her survival. And I get the offense felt by some parents who feel their child's needs aren't being met, but DCPS has a whole host of other responsibilities to families that do and should come before GT--and they're struggling with those as it is. If you think VA schools are superior, then it's fair to consider your comments here as trolling. |
| Like it or not, the "snowflake" term DOES hit many people as being a racist anti-white slur because it has often been used in that way. Please don't try and deflect or sugarcoat it - because that only makes it worse. Just stop using it. |
Case in point. I forgot to add that booster trolls like to act like they can judge what is or is not a legitimate question. Not to mention the paranoid assumption that anyone asking a question is trying to "sow bogus controversy" that needs a booster to "debunk and clarify" or better yet, "clear the air".
Yes, the troll boosters are a real, live thing and they are obvious in their trolling. |
So let's see: We're in a forum where parents are seeking insight and opnion on schools. As expected, some parents are going to have extremely positive views. You turn this into a phenom that no one else has identified or is bothered with, and ask a question to elicit a negative reaction. When that doesn't work, you start a thread, replying repeatedly to your own post with plenty of know-it-all conjecture about what makes trolls extremely annoying. But you're not a troll. Kicking myself for taking your bait and responding but hoping it will keep others from doing the same. |
Oh please, Since when is snowflake a racist anti-white slur? I never hear Asians, AAs or Latinos use that term, Only white women (high SES for that matter) looking to start pissing contests with each other. |
I think you're wrong. We all have different experiences. |

| I think all this sniping at each other is just what the OP wanted to generate. Can we please just stop it? |
