Why is it okay for your dog to shit in my yard?

Anonymous
I agree with the OP. It is her private property and the dog is tresspassing on her property. I would not let my 1 year old wander onto her lawn and take a dump (nor would I), so why is it appropriate to let my dog?

Did any of you read what OP said??? The dog was shitting almost at his front door. Move the effing door to the lawn and pick up the poop.

I am a dog owner/lover, and I would NEVER allow my dog to get that close to someone's front door to poop.

I don't blame OP for being pissed. I would be too.

ye si am a dog owner and our vet suggested this method to keep the dog from ruining other things

Not OP but thanks for this tip. I am sick of dogs peeing on my lawn and damaging the grass.

How close is the door to the sidewalk?

I'm imagining them both pooping in a carefully choreographed insult to OP.

Be careful with the mothball idea, if a child were to put one in their mouth they are extremely toxic. Maybe try a sign first.

Disgusting, there are poop remnants no matter what. Keep your dog on a short leash and off the neighbor's lawn where their kid plays.

I'll do you one better ... I'm going to poop in her yard.

Does it matter? Like you would like to step out of your door into the remnants of shit that didn't get picked up? And by the way, you can't get it all. It does smear and no way is somebody going to stand there and wipe your grass clean.

And, yeah, I have two dogs, and I do NOT like having to hose down my lawn for leftover doggie-doo. So, I always think about how someone else feels when they have to clean up after my pooches.

Am I being unreasonable in thinking this way?
Ahhh, how delightful. The first thing you get when you open your front door is the smell of dog feces. Damn skippy it's disrespectful. You're better than me. I'd tell him, nicely, to let his dog poop away from the door and thank you for cleaning it up and make sure you get it all.

A decent neighbor would have never allow their dog that close to your door to dump.

Take the contents of a diaper over to this neighbor's house and dump by the front door.

Yes. If you're in a townhouse and your front yard is a 12 inch strip of grass its a lot different than a bigger hard where the dog roams free and deficates on the front steps.

I agree with you, OP. Sure, a dog may have to poop/pee somewhere, but that's the owner's responsibility to deal with, and not use other people's yards or trash cans as their dog's toilet.

Your dog, your problem.
