The kind for big butts since it requires more material.

I would spend 500 on 2 new pairs of pants

Pants are a splurge?? Wow, I feel sorry for you.

$250/pair is NOT CHEAP, lady.

But not really expensive either. Kinda middle of the road if you're used to buying nice clothes. Pants just didn't seem very special.

Wish I had your family's HHI! To me, buying any item of clothing over $100 is a major splurge. I cringe at a $50 top or pair of jeans thinking it's decadent. Granted, my wardrobe also sucks, but I'm not sure how much money we'd need to be making before I said that $250 for a pair of pants "was "not really expensive".

If it wasn't spring I'd say a new pair of boots.

Perhaps there is a $500 pair of flip flops for the warm weather?

those pants are expensive, even if I had the money, I would not buy them. How are they different then say a typical pair of slacks, other than the name brand?

Not quite flip flops (or $500), but these are really cute:

I would love to hear where you 2 posters are from - originally. You two should buy a new personality - well, actually, I'd just cancel that bitch altogether and buy another one. . .

Fit, feel, drape, fabric, construction
St. Johns clothing is classic so you can wear their stuff for years. It lasts well, stays in style and the fit and drape are perfect. I don't mind spending more on their stuff. That grey outfit makes me feel like a million bucks. The Tory Burch pants I did waver a bit as they are trendier but they are beautifully made.

What if you put on or lost weight? New wardrobe?

+1

I'm a Republican eating ramen noodles and writing checks for local families in need. Sheesh!

and my friend just went to Haiti YESTERDAY to go help out at an 800 children orphanage. Would you like an address to send a $500 donation?

Sigh, if I lost weight I would happily buy a new wardrobe...
I try really hard to not gain weight. Gets harder as I get older... Several years ago I did lose 30 pounds and I had a lot of my nicer stuff altered. I consigned some things and donated some stuff.
I would rather buy 1 pair of really nice beautiful pants that I love, than 10 pairs that I just felt "meh" about.

Those are some seriously ugly pants, especially for that kind of money. Cropped pants don't look good on anyone, ant the rest will be out of style in two years because the cut is really really weird. More money than sense, I think.
