Want to buy myself a splurge gift

Anonymous
I am about to get through a tough few weeks, with a DH on extended travel during an insanely busy time at work, as well a major work accomplishment. I want to buy myself a nice splurge gift. I was thinking ipad but am trying to think more broadly. Budget $500 (so the ipad is slightly over). Don't want a new bag or purse. Am thinking a great pair of shoes? Jewelry? Would love any suggestions .

I'd go for a great pair of shoes or a nice watch. Or a nice dress

Spa Day. Hire a babysitter.

I'd do this. All of you will look and feel a ton better. Get a haircut too. A $500 pair of shoes is simply not worth it to me. I mean, how many times can you wear them without scuffing them up?

A cow for a needy family -- Hefer Int'l?? It's a gift that keeps on giving. Months from now and even farther down the road you will probably look back and feel good that you did this instead.

Oh for heaven's sake, the very premise of this thread is

Poor OP, things are soooooo rough. Must spend $500 on self to cope.

Why the eye roll 15:41? Think of it as going for a run instead of eating a big piece of chocolate cake after a hard work week. Instant gratification with the latter but you'll feel so much better by choosing the former.

Agreed. If the OP can't actually even think of something that she wants, it sounds like she's just looking to buy something for the sake of it. It probably won't make her feel tons better anyway.

My first thought was a spa day too. And lunch out and maybe a new book.

Hotel room for a night and dinner with friends.
Or designer shoes.

I would book several spa treatments at The Mandarin Oriental. You can use their workout room and their indoor pool when you go to their spa. The spa itself has a beautiful steam room and a small swimming pool sized hot tub as well.

I would choose something from Tiffany's or add to my Pandora bracelet.
