OP, you're a self absorbed twat.
I'm as ready as anyone to get pissed off about too-early rudeness but mowing a lawn at 9 am on Sunday is not that. Grow up. |
|
He's allowed to mow his lawn at 9:05 am. If it was 6:05 or 7:05 or maybe even 8:05 I might empathize.
Let me guess - any other time of day would also be inconvenient for the OP? |
| 9am and you're complaining?! |
|
The point is, if you like the luxury of sleeping in or a latte, then you're resonsible for providing it for yourself. If you want a latte, go buy it. If you want to sleep in on a spring morning, close your windows, turn on a fan for some cover noise, and wear earplugs and a mask, and sleep in to your heart's content.
Light also makes it hard to sleep in -- does OP curse the sun for shining too early? |
Is this really necessary? I have half a mind to report this post. I think it should be removed. |
ITA! I was up at 5:30 with the kids. I have finished 5 loads of laundry already. |
See, you and OP can think whatever you want. That doesn't make 10 the norm in your neighborhood or the law in your jurisdiction. That said, I once asked our neighbor's workers to please stop leaf blowing. I was hugely pregnant and had a migraine. They were out at just past 7 on a Sunday, and I asked if they could wait until 8. Brought out some bottles of water for them. They worked on other stuff and didn't turn on the leaf blowers until 9. |
It's common curtesy to be a good neighbor and not disturb others. Your name-calling here (twat? Really? That's going too far.) is a pretty good indicator of what sort of neighbor you are. |
|
Your neighbor is obeying the law.
2704.6 The use or operation of portable power tools, home snow removal equipment, power garden excluding leaf blowers devices, and other powered equipment for minor repairs or minor improvements of real or personal residential property shall be exempt on weekdays (excluding Saturdays) during the daytime and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays. |
|
Looks like after 7am your neighbor is good to go per the law, they can mow their lawn if they want regardless of whether or not it bother you, sorry OP.

Well, let's see, obviously 12-1 and 6-7:30 are out, since some like to dine al fresco in nice weather (or even eat with their windows open). Then there are those who like to have happy hour on the deck, so 4:30-6 are out. And lots of kids nap, so 1-3 is unacceptable. And of course, there are lots of kids who still have 2 naps, so 10-11:30 we simply MUST have quiet. We've already established that before 10 is too early. So . . . looks like acceptable lawnmowing times on the weekend in OP's neighborhood are 10-12 and 1:30-4:30. Of course, if she happens to leave the house, the neighbors should use that time to mow. In fact, OP, you should tell them your weekend schedule, and ask them to confine lawn maintenance to the times that you leave the house. By the way, I think people bitching about others mowing during kids' naptimes are unreasonable - but that's a LOT more defensible than OP's silliness. |
I'm not disputing the law here. I'm just speaking to common curtesy. If you don't get what I'm saying here--well, you just don't get it. And you probably are living a pretty selfish, f*ck you, sort of existence--one PP even said f*ck you to me--oh, the irony. |
You're right, and that someone is the OP, since her sleep was disturbed by her neighbor.
|
You do what you feel you need to do, honeybuns. |
| I believe 9 AM is the law for weekends ... |
