Get a reputable lawyer(s) and a financial adviser and setup a trust fund/etc. to plan out the taxes, will, etc. first.

Update your life insurance and/or liability insurance/etc. (umbrella insurance) for any nut cases who come trying to gouge you for an old car accident/etc.

Prepare yourself because your family and friends will change. They'll see you as the "filthy rich guy".

Won't tell a soul. People become the biggest a$$holes when they think someone has money.

Love the buy MIL a house in any country idea - may have to steal that one! But you know she wouldn't move just to spite us. We would be the better for offering

Our lives would not change too much, but the security would be nice. I would definitely remember who has gone out of their way for me and my family in the past, first and foremost. They specifically would never have to worry about money ever again.

Get a menagerie of pets and hire a full-time (maybe live-in) pet nanny. I will always have furry friends to snuggle with, but I will never clean up cat vomit or scoop a litter box again!

I remember recently someone went through a trust or something after they won Powerball or Megamillions and refused to come forward with their name and the lottery authorities basically said they wouldn't accept a winner without a name, but then I never heard anything else.

Is it actually possible to win and not have the world know so that the crazies don't come after you?

Anyway, if I won I would:

1) Pay off outstanding debt.
2) Buy this house (http://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/2509-Foxhall-Rd-NW-20007/home/9937845) or maybe this one (http://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/3101-Chain-Bridge-Rd-NW-20016/home/9942690). Or maybe this one! http://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/1824-R-St-NW-20009/home/10191926
3) Take the swankiest vacation ever on some ridiculous exotic beach.
4) Donate a ton of money to worthwhile charities.

Not change a thing about my life. Love my job. But I would cry because we could actually afford a nice house in DC!

I would probably keep my job, too. Sounds weird, but I enjoy it.

I'd still work but find another job.

Am I the only one who think this amount would ruin any life? Seriously...my husband wanted to buy it and I said..oh no! if you win, our lives are over.

It would be great to win anything under 5 million...ummm maybe 10M..no more! no more!

Many lottery winners have had their lives destroyed by their new found fortune. Many have gone bankrupt and had other terrible things happen because of the money. If not you, then your heirs who inherit the money.
