If you saw me at the pool, what would you say behind my back?

OP, What are you using in terms of razors/shaving cream? You aren't trying to shave dry are you?

Have you tried with brand new, GOOD razors? Sensitive skin shaving cream? conditioner? body wash?

I'm only offering suggestions because it seems like you want to shave. Doesn't really matter to me anyway.

As for the pedicures: ignore it! The women probably see all kinds of ugly, nasty feet. Do you really think hair legs gross them out?

I wouldn't think that you had a condition that made it so you couldn't shave, honestly.

But I would think: there is a woman who DOESNT GIVE A F*CK in the BEST way.

Hey OP, my friend had a similar situation as you-- she couldn't shave at all because her skin would break out and was really sensitive/painful. Many years later she was diagnosed with celiac disease, and once she went gluten free all her skin issues cleared up.

Not saying you have celiac, just throwing this out there to say it might be due to an allergy or something else. Anyway, good luck with your pregnancy and don't sweat it!

I'd think, "Why is she showing so much skin?"

I break out in horrible bumps / hives when I shave. So I've been getting waxed for years now. I break out in HORRIBLE hives IMMEDIATELY following the waxing, but after that everything chills out and I'm good to go. Maybe give it a try and see if it's for you (assuming it is something that bothers you, of course. You don't have to remove any hair at all if you don't want to!)

I wouldn't worry about the shaving part, but . . . if shaving makes your skin crazy, will the sun be just as bad?

OP here and thanks a lot for the support, ladies.

The derm said the same as the OB. And I was just screened for celiac and it came negative. I also have Psoriases so it really doesn't help. I was alwas a waxer bc razors gave me pimples and ingrowth hair. After all this I tried it all again but it just gets worse. Horrible hives right after removing the hair followed by ingrowth hair and pimples of inflamed hair roots all over the shaved/waxed area. I tried conditioner, shampoo, shaving cream (all kinds) all sorts of razors - including DH's for sensitive skin and nothing really worked.

I'm a swimmer so during the witer I swim indoors. I thought it was the water of the pool but I went to 3 different pools including a salt water one and it's been all the same. I tried waiting for 2 weeks between hair removal and pool visit still no improvement.

I guess I'll wear the shorts. Skirts are not an option because I swim laps. Oh and finding a decent maternity high performance suit is another story... The maternity speedos will cover the belly but can't support a DD up there.

I wouldn't notice that you had hair on your legs. If you look at someone from afar, it's pretty hard to tell.

The ladies at the salon will always try to make you feel bad because they can make money removing the hair. Honestly, I would look at you and admire your confidence, assuming that you weren't shaving by choice!

Go on with your bad self.

I would probably think you were crunchy....but I wouldn't think less of you.

I had hormone induced rashes during my pregnancy as well. You could try bleaching the hair (same product used for facial hair but not sure if it's okay in pregnancy) or clippers (like barber clippers or dog clippers so you can get it down almost but not all the way to the skin).

How hairy are we talking?

If you're seriously hairy and have pale skin with dark hair on your legs, I would notice. I would find it kind of gross. It wouldn't be enough for me to want to shy away from you, but it would be a strange sight for me, so I'd think you were a bit gross in re: to grooming. If we're just talking about stubble, then I'd probably not notice at all. I'm just being honest.

We're talking as hairy as DH.

I would say I wish I had the courage to go to the pool without shaving. I would be in awe of you!

Guy here, one who is adverse to hair, so I'm probably the worst commenter you will find:

Depending on other things about how you look, what you were wearing and the stuff you brought, I'd think you were french, seriously granola, possibly a lesbian, or one of the "empowered women" discussed by the posters above (i.e. one who just doesn't give a flying F). Each of those comes along with certain stereotypes, which I would think quite possibly could be true about you.

As I mentioned, I am adverse to hair, so depending on your complexion and the color of the hair, I'd find it anywhere from not too remarkable to fairly nauseating. I'm sorry, I was conditioned to be this way by the media and advertising.

Have you tried an electric razor?

If your DH is like Robin Williams, I would judge. If he is like Bruce Lee, I wouldn't even notice.
