If you saw me at the pool, what would you say behind my back?

Try a crappy electric razor. Waxing pulls from the roots and shaving chafes the skin, which can exacerbate your problems, as will some creams.

An electric razor that just leaves a fuzz may work.mhover it over the area.mif your hair is long enough, use the trim attachment to shear the ends off.

OP...if you are married, please ask your husband to help you with that. I had laser hair removal under my arm (got it through groupon) and I am so happy that I will do it again (legs and brazilian). I am waiting for a new groupon laser removal to kick in my email box though! It is really expensive but if you do each area at the time, it will not be so hard to pay for it.

Did you even read OP's responses?

OP here. Are you seriously suggesting me to find another activity just because YOU are grossed out? LOL

It's gotta be a joke (the suggestion, not the grossed out part).

Anyway, thanks to all for being honest (or not ) it really helps me to feel better.

You asked for it OP when you wrote your post. You wanted to know if people would be grossed out and the poster above said yes.

OP here. And I didn't mind PP being honest (did you read that part?) my "outrage" was someone feeling entitled to suggest me to go elsewhere just because they feel uncomfortable close to a hairy and/or fat woman.

+1000. You may have judgments, but please try to own them as such.

Ok...when I see a hairy woman, my first thought is: she is not a clean person. It looks really disgusting.

Last summer, I was playing with DD when a nanny/mom came to play around us and when I saw the hair in her arm pits, I swear I got shocked. She was cute, thin, really young but all that hair was unbelievably gross. She had more hair than my husband, seriously...I thought...damn...if you can't shave or wax, please do not use a sleeveless shirt!

It looks awful...let's be honest here people!

Why hair is connected to dirt?

Hair is protection, you know?

honestly, totally honestly??

I'd think you were gross and wonder how in the world your husband tolerates it.

Actually, I'm cool with unshaven legs but unshaven bikini line and underarms? I think disgusting and poor hygiene.

So do men who do not shave their pits or balls also have poor hygIene? Ridiculous conclusion to draw. Fine if you have gendered issues with hair, but going so far as to claim bad hygiene....come on.

because hair by it's nature traps odor. And women are by nature smellier then men--thanks to hormones, (and their impact on the smell of sweat), menstruation, other vaginal discharge, etc.

I have girl/boy twins and found from about age 4 that my daughter has to bathe much more frequently than my son or else she has an odor (not terrible) from below.
In fact I've never really noticed an odor from him but she definitely gets the littlest bit smelly at about day 3. (and no, she doesn't have an infection). I've talked about this with friends who also have a girl and a boy and it's definitely a phenomenon.

OP, if I saw you in the pool I'd think, how great that you have the confidence to forego hair removal. Rock on.

However, I was one of the posters who suggested that the chemicals in the pool water might be causing a problem. Ever since my second pregnancy, I've had to go on multiple antihistamines to deal with my super-sensitive skin, which reacts strongly to pool water, pets, most skin care products, wool and cashmere clothing, etc. I think the fact that OP is distraught about the situation and the fact that the skin flareups are causing discomfort leads me to wonder if there isn't a medical intervention that could help here.

OP here. The problem (or not solution...) is that if I don't remove the hair the water won't hurt my skin.

I know people on here are trying to be supportive, but I don't think they are being very honest. Really, its not something that I would want to see at the pool.

Waxing could solve the problems with irritation. There are also over the counter meds to reduce it or you could see a dermatologist. There are many options.
I was completely honest when I said I would think OP was awesome!
