Since getting pregnant with DC1 I cannot shave anymore. I tried every single possibility under the sun and I just can't remove my hair anymore. I cried over it, sobbed, got depressed and nothing helped so I just decided to face it and see how it feels.
I get horrible hives and/or rashes all over the shaved/waxed/threaded/treated area. It's just so painful I totally gave up. Last night my legs, arms, underarms, bikini, were just as hairy as DH's. (It's been 6 months since my last attempt). I tried DH's clippers just to cut not too close to the skin but it was a total disaster! My legs are all red, swollen and itchy. I cried scratching it with a natural sponge. I took Benadryl and it got better but it's still swollen. I won't do it again. You'll see me at the pool with my hairy legs and I know you'll say something. What will you say? |
| Assuming I would even notice .... I'd think, I hope she's happy about her pregnancy and not stressing because she can't shave. |
| I'd just think you were a groovy granola type. |
| 3 words: Laser Hair Removal (after pregnancy, of course). Til then, no worries. Though, maybe I'd go to a dermatologist... |
| I don't get it. Why can't you shave? Did your pregnancy make something happen in your body that precludes hair removal now? I'm not being snarky, just curious. I've never been pregnant so I just don't know. Does pregnancy have this affect often? |
OP here. I've been there... LOL First off, to go through the procedure you must shave. And to do all the troubled areas it would take a whole year!!! and the price? NO WAY I can afford it. Even with groupon...

OP here. My OB keeps telling me it will get better, it's just "hormones". Well, DC is 18 months old and I'm pregnant again and nothing has changed. I've never heard of this either but OB says it's normal - not common, just normal. |

Just curious -- why can't you shave your underarms anymore? (I get why you might not be able to shave your legs or bikini area.)
Although, please don't worry about it! |
| I probably wouldn't notice and if I did, I'd just think you were someone who chose not to shave. I wouldn't judge or care. |
| OP, did you suffer post partum depression after DC 1 was born? |
| I wouldn't notice and if I did I wouldn't say anything because it's a minor thing and I just don't care. |
|
Why would I even want to look at OP's legs.
I suppose I would just walk past and think she has a pretty smile, gorgeous baby I would notice the baby first |
Nope. |

Legs -- whatever.
Armpits and bikini line -- can you wear a rashguard tshirt and more covered bottoms (like a swim mini or swim shorts) -- that way you won't draw attention and you won't feel so exposed in those areas.... plus you'll be better protected from radiation/skin cancer. |

Thank you so much for your kind responses, ladies.
I get looks and comments at the nail salon all the time so that's why I've been so upset about it. Getting a pedi is my go-to desstressor and it makes me so upset to have this happen. I find myself going early morning on week days so I don't have to see other people staring at my legs. Thanks a lot! |
