ugh

young dads . . .

You'll hit mid-life sooner rather than later.

Exactly. That preference may be fine now but it will just be pathetic in 10 plus years unless he is loaded. Not many Hugh Hefner's in the area. I used to work for a guy that said his preference in women hadn't changed since he was in his mid 20s (he like women in their 20s) but unfortunately he kept aging, losing his hair, watching his weight, and not significantly increasing the paycheck so not many choices.

Hot young girls tend not to go for middle class middle-aged dads.

Calm down. Expressing your rage on the interwebz does nothing.

This thread makes me a little sad. I am 10 years older than you OP. I was a very beautiful girl, always the prettiest one in the room. I'm still attractive but it's not the same. I know how shallow and stupid it is to lament getting old but life is so golden for a pretty girl. People are so nice to pretty people. Funny thing is I didn't realize why people were always so nice to me until the attention stopped. I miss it. I would never admit this to anyone in real life.

not dense

just annoyed by OP's post

You, however, make me laugh. I imagine your life is pretty easy if a thread gets you this upset.

What's wrong? can't find a young one to lay?

And you have just confirmed what society already thinks is the prevailing standard of beauty. Way to go your own way, Guy.

OP, you sound immature. You are 31 and maybe it's time to branch out and grow up a bit. Seriously, if you are struggling with this now think of how it will be at 41 and 51.

Take care of yourself and that will take you far, both looks wise and in health and energy levels. And then cultivate some interests so that you can grow and change and learn more and be interesting to talk to.

I'm 35 and I feel like I've never looked better, but I know aging is inevitable. I discovered yoga around age 30 and started eating for health and not weight. Result is that my weight is still ideal and I'm eating a lot fewer artificial sweeteners and crap like diet coke and "lite" yogurt. I've learned how best to treat my hair and what cuts look good on me, same with clothes. I'm a HELL of a lot more confident and more articulate than I was in my 20s, and I've accomplished a lot more.

My boobs are only going to get lower and wrinkles are just a few years away. Oh well. Everyone ages. I enjoyed looking 18-29 when I was that age. Time to move on. It's not like some people get to stay that way and you are one of the unlucky few that has to age. Just don't fight it like Madonna and end up looking like a freak show.

And if you want a man's opinion don't go posting on a parenting web site. I realize men read and contribute but it sure seems like a lot more women are posting, at least in the Gen Parenting and Off Topic forums.

Woman here (yeah - I CAN read).

OP - just FYI. If you're concerned about aging, a qualty regular skin care regimen will work WONDERS. It doesn't have to be expensive - I've been using face masks from CVS for years, and it's wonderful. At almost 36 I still get carded on occasion (for real - you should see the double takes from bartenders/liquor store clerks!)

Exercise & skin care - totally changes actual age to percieved age.

My 70-year-old mom was recently dating a 27-year-old guy. And SHE broke up with HIM. It's all in your attitude.

This is true. and of course, the women who do--and are over 40--will become that much more attractive.

You read that wrong. I workout 1.5 hours a day, Tske care of my skin, fashionable clothes. I am 41 mistaken for 31--but this is for me and DH. I could give a shit how I stack up against a 20-something. The freaks that start with drastic measures/ surgery and try to hard look like freaks.

Reverse it - would you rather date a really hot, young guy or one your own age? I know I'd likely tire of the young 'un/ feel ridiculous pretty quickly.
