OP you say sprucing up provides confidence. These women already have confidence from their experiences and achievements. They don't need to spruce up to feel good about themselves. Makes you wonder why women in other cities need that doesn't it? Insufficient experiences and achievements to provide a sense of self worth that is more then skin deep? Further, if you are actually attractive and in shape, a t-shirt and jeans is going to be all you need to look good.

Coming from a Southern town most women even in their late 30s and 40s understand the confidence it instills in oneself to look your best always.
