Loud, Useless, Cheeping Birds Outside My Window; how to get rid them?

Anonymous
I think you need to install better windows. Or are your windows open? If open, close them. If closed, get the new more sound proof ones.

High quality windows.

Bird are an important part of nature. They eat bugs and other things; they are beautiful and they fly free. Chirping is what birds do so leave them alone. They may be annoyed by you but they know how to coexist with humans. You need help!

I don't have a solution, but invite all of the "birds are a part of nature" posters to try to sleep with freaking loud birds a two feet outside your window. We had a problem with English sparrows, which are an invasive species that cheep very loudly and annoyingly. I prefer to lay on my side with a pillow over my head to block the noise and run a fan.

We had this problem...the only thing that worked was this spray repellent we got from a hardware store in the Belle View area/Alexandria.

its really really sticky and you spray it on the branches of the tree. Its not toxic to the birds or the tree, but their feet stick to it when they perch and they eventually stopped using that tree.

We tried putting fake owls in the tree but eventually the birds just attacked it and it made the problem so much worse.

A loud fan also helps like others have said.

Try a white noise machine in your bedroom. We used to live on a somewhat busy street, also was an emergency route, so the fire trucks and police drove through with sirens blaring on a regular basis, and it really helps to drown out those kinds of noises. I can't sleep without it now. They cost around $50 on amazon.com.

Get a slingshot and shoot the birds at pigs. Or at people who drag up old threads for no reason.

Lots of chicks are hatching and chirping for food. They need to be fed every 15-20 minutes but the good thing will be that the noise will lessen in a few weeks. Figure out where the nest is and put up spikes so they can't return next year. That's what we had to with a couple of nests that were made on our outside lights.

As mentioned by someone else, they do sell plastic owls. I've mainly seen them on sailboats, as they supposedly keep birds from nesting. I can't tell you if its works.

We have birds like this. I have worn earplugs for the past 4-5 years - it's changed my life.

Well. It's Spring again and the useless, plaintive cheeping is back. I hate them. Can they not sing a melody like they do in Snow White or Hunger Games? What is the point of birds? They just carry disease and vermin. I hate them.

Sorry OP. That would definitely freak me out, as I have a fear of getting bird mites.

I live in Virginia, it's early summer, and I found this forum because I'm having the same problem with a really loud, cheeping bird, and I actually like birds. I believe it's a northern mockingbird as another commenter mentioned. VERY annoying. Hopefully it will stop soon once they find a mate?
