You’d be amazed at how many women fall down or drop phones or have their bag ripped away and can’t call for help because they don’t have pockets.
Seriously. Pockets save lives. https://medium.com/wise-well/women-finally-have-a-reason-to-demand-pockets-they-save-lives-ee2849d8b88e |
| I had pockets in my wedding dress. Love pockets. |

Love pockets! I will rarely buy a dress without. I have a variety of price points but cannot think of a time the pocket was bulky, added heft. I guess it could.
I’m petite ( 5 ft exactly) so I have a lot of things shortened but still no issue. I even chose a Mof the B dress because it had pockets. It was gorgeous! I love being able to keep my lipstick or tissue on me without a purse! |
| LOVE pockets. |
| Pockets for sure. |
| I agree, OP, I hate dresses with pockets. I don't like pockets in general, though. I just carry a purse or wristlet and it's rarely an issue for me. |
| When I walk the dog in the summer, I need pockets for his cookies and my phone/airpods. You do you, know that others have legitimate needs for pockets. |
+1 Pockets in dresses are a huge bonus. A place to put my glasses, phone, small wallet, or hands. Love them. |
I don’t dress for you. I wear what is comfortable and works for me. |
| I love pockets! I have a ball gown with pockets that I wear to special events and they are so useful for putting in a cell phone or chapstick. |
| Since I don’t even own a dress with pockets, I googled to see what the options are. Most dresses with pockets look fairly casual and have a more voluminous skirt which hides the pockets (empty or full). My typical simple sheath style dresses wouldn’t lay right with pockets, especially if you load them up with phone, glasses, etc. Sewing tip: pockets that are located in the side seam can be taken out or sewn shut. |
| This is why aprons and pinafores with pockets exist. They can be removed when you are ready to let the dress shine. |
| I like pockets. For unknown reasons my car LOCKS ITSELF randomly so I keep my key fob in my pocket versus in my purse. |
| Blasphemy! A usable pocket is a miracle for any piece of women’s clothing. |
