Same. I bought the same one a year ago. Best money I’ve spent! I make myself the most delicious coffees. I buy beans and grind them myself. It’s so easy. |
PP you replied to. Japanese people drink the same teas we drink here. All the existing varieties of tea originate from Asia anyway, as I'm sure you know. Japanese-made tea sets are designed for all of them. Earl Grey comes in many different varieties: lavender and violet have been added to it for years. Or you can get it with extra citrus. Or other spices or herbs. |

A quadruple shot latte from the local shop before my Sunday workout.
A new record. The 15 minutes I spend with my coffee, my NY Times games app and my ancient cat at 5:30 am, before my long workday starts. |

- Once in 2 weeks - cleaning service and lawn mowing service
- Meeting 2 of my close girlfriends for lunch or dinner - at least once every month - Chinese take out from a tiny neighborhood restaurant which is the BOMB. They cook to my specification. - Just a few strategically placed hanging baskets of fuchsia, geranium and petunias in our front yard. Also, Tons of marigolds in our flowerbeds. No deers, no rabbits and no snakes and mosquitos. Easy breezy pretty yard. - Fiesta lights in our backyard. - Going for shows and movies. - Hiring my wonderful party lady for our dinner parties. - Sometimes getting home delivery for our WF and Costco orders. |
❤️ It sounds divine. Both the tea and the fragrant roses. May I ask what is the variety of rose that you are growing? |
| My pollinator garden and the lovely hummingbirds. |
You clearly know nothing about Japanese porcelain/bone china/ironstone. Feel free to step out of the chat with your backwater fantasies! |
You sound like a girl after my own heart! May I know the maker and pattern for your teacups and teapot!? Also I love Mariages Freres! They say the Marco Polo is like the Chanel No 5 of tea, but I think Opera is my favorite. It wouldn’t be French tea if it wasn’t so floral and perfumed! |
That sounds lovely….I just love a home that has fresh flowers 💐 in it.
My small indulgence is my subscription to People magazine. I love to read the latest on celebrities, I.e., who is dating who, etc. |

Investing in a celebrity skincare + beauty line.
Common sense dictates that this particular celebrity has millions & likely doesn’t even use her moniker-themed products but I like to trick myself into believing that she really (!) does and that if I use her skincare line, one day my skin will look as flawless as hers does!?? 😢 |
| Fresh herbs fir my packed from home lunch salad in a Rubbermaid container. |
| I buy veggies, strawberries, eggs at the local farm store once a month. I bring back the glass bottles for chocolate milk, and get a new one to make myself feel good for the day. |
This is me. Started in the pandemic, I think it was what I had on hand and we weren’t going to the store much, never looked back! |
| Sometimes I get boba tea on my walk home from work. If I'm feeling real indulgent, I get full sugar. |
PP you replied to. I have a few fragrant hybrid tea roses that I baby, because they're not really made for our hot summers and clay soil. One that has done well in morning sun and afternoon shade is my favorite, Line Renaud by Meilland. The scent is incredible. You might have an easier time finding the climbing rose Zephirine Drouhin by David Austin. Bonus, it's completely thornless, so can be placed on your porch, where you can benefit from the scent. In general, it's much easier to find David Austin roses than the French Meilland roses, which is a shame, because Meilland is the best hybrid tea rose developer out there. Make sure you pick a resistant variety. The tea is Mariage Freres Earl Grey Provence. The Earl Grey French Blue is also delicious. OK, don't laugh at me: the tea set is a discontinued Noritake Studio Ghibli collection, for Hayao Miyazaki fans
