At this point I think I’d rather have things go back to way they used to be. Buy it illegally and smoke it quietly in your house. That’s better than this nonsense. The dumbasses blowing it out their car windows and lighting up on every street corner are the reason we can’t have nice things. |
I have not read about this. I'll have to see what I can find. I hope they are Les Mis-esque with lots of singing and gunpowder. |
Those things are still illegal (and definitely would be even with legalized recreational). It's just MPD doesn't care or doesn't want to make their crime statistics look bad so they do nothing. |
No one likes it but the idea that you thought you could avoid it by buying an expensive house is hilarious. You should move to a gated community in the burbs. |
|
We live in a Virginia suburb where nice old homes are being torn down for $3 million McMansions.
Our block is a constant stream of: --construction workers leaving Wendy's wrappers blowing around the street, then smoking and standing in front of our house on the street, looking in at our windows while taking breaks from work; --landscape workers arriving at 6:30 am and firing up their riding lawnmowers at 100 decibels; --Amazon delivery drivers parking in the middle of the street so that no one can get by; --DoorDash drivers going 20 mph over the speed limit while blowing smoke out their windows (I bet the food tastes great); and --"professional" dogwalkers walking in the middle of the street, looking at their phones while cars wait for them to move. Meanwhile, we never see our actual neighbors; everyone is busy working and shuttling their kids around to activities. The homes and yards are developed and maintained for the sake of themselves. |
+1000 We see you OP. And it's not ok. |
Oh, actually ... you are the reason we can't have nice things. |
| I’m sick of it too. Speaks to the lazy neighborhood and their obscene spending habits. But I hate having to dodge cars walking down a formerly quiet road and smelling weed. Just shows how much our pathetic society has declined. Can’t leave the house to buy our stuff, constant consumerism thru amazon, and constant delivery trucks. And we use the excuse that we are just so busy, but most of what sucks up our time isn’t that important. |
Of course you would rather have it the way it used to be... when poor people of color were locked up for "crimes" that white folks skated on |
Sounds like you should move into a poorer neighborhood |
|
Absolutely WILD that OP blames their problems on the people trying to make a living doing the bidding of their wealthy, lazy neighbors. Just wild.
But hey, stock market's up, since we cut all the jobs that those folks could have gotten, and suppressed wages to the point that even professionals are taking on gig work to make ends meet. So isn't it really a big win for you?? |
That's really sad. I live in a deep urban neighborhood where folks are out and about all the time... working in their tiny gardens, picking up trash, playing with their kids, walking to local neighborhood restaurants. And yeah, smoking weed sometimes. I wouldn't trade with you. |
| Love it, I appreciate the deliveries. |
|
I live in an expensive neighborhood, am worth about 20M, and drive a beat-up corolla. I don’t mind delivery drivers. Usually they’re not the ones smoking weed. That would be my neighbor with the trust fund!
OP is classist and racist, and generally disgusts me. |
Pot smoking? Wow. I see a lot of uber cars, but I don't think I can describe all of them as pot smoking, recklessly speeding type. Are you sure we are talking about the same thing? Where is this exactly? |
