Two, why would these parents leave their daughter alone with a random man long enough that he was able to molest her? Very strange.

Also, leave it to a Duggar to be in Panama City Beach in the middle of the pandemic.

Because it obviously involves an extended family member/in law/friend's family/known community member. As is the case is the vast, vast majority of CSA.

Because the 9 yr old didn't tell until she was 14.

Maybe she will be the one to leave and write a tell all. Do it, Kendra, you’ll be set for life.

Anna didn’t leave Josh and he has federal charges. These women have minimal job skills and I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t have anything in their name. Not only this but they have to deal with the social pressure from their communities and families about divorce. They aren’t going anywhere.

All the wives whose Duggar husbands have abused children should divorce the husbands, become friends and do a reality show getting SUPER honest about it - how they missed warning signs, what the husbands told them, how they're handling it with their kids, how they told their families, all of that. I'd watch the shit out of that type of show.

Just a couple weeks ago I read that Anna Duggar had re-emerged on TikTok hawking her golden doodle breeding business. The number of people wishing her well was shocking. This is a woman who supported her husband through a CSAM trial. What kind of mother hears that her husband was watching little girls as young as two years old be raped and is like "Meh"? I don't care that she's got a learning disability and barely has her GED. You're an effing MOTHER. OF YOUNG GIRLS.

As far as I'm concerned, Anna, Michelle, Jim Bob, and all the siblings who enable this abuse or turn a blind eye to it can rot in hell with Josh and Joseph.

Time will tell what Kendra does. I hope she makes the right choice for her sake and that of her children.

I'm disturbed by this. And do wonder if one of the parents or older relatives preyed on many of the kids, as we do know often those preyed on repeat this behavior.

I believe the oldest daughter, who, btw, also has a criminal charge of child neglect because she was left with too many siblings/nieces/nephews to care for and one managed to escape, married a non-cult person. Mind you, she also didn't get married until 34 or 35 which was shocking in their cult.

Nope, he is from a fundamentalist cult family as well.

His sister is married to Jeremiah Duggar. These people don't really let their kids marry normals. I think the best you can hope for is to leave the cult together or put some distance between them and your new family once married. I think one of the Duggar girls kind of has this?

I think it’s Jill that married a semi-normal guy with a college education and a normal job.

Yes, Derrick is a lawyer. Was an ADA for awhile and now has his own firm. He seemed to realize that the Duggar kids were getting fleeced by Jim Bob and demanded they give Jill the money she was entitled to. It drove a rift in the family and they have gotten way more mainstream during the quasi-estrangement. No longer in the cult vs a more mainstream sect, moved away, Jill wears jeans, etc.

Jinger wears pants now too! They have both been on-and-off estranged from their parents at various times over the years but I do think Jill's slightly more "worldly" than Jinger, as the fundies would say. Jinger's husband is a pastor and she wrote a book about "disentangling" from "fear-based religion" for women. Jill has a nose ring and talks about buying sex toys lol.

I think Jessa is estranged too but maybe not.

I just looked up this is son number 7 and was born in 1995. The oldest convicted felon brother was born in 1988. I wonder if he was abused by his older brother and/or exposed to p*rn.

The oldest one abused his several younger siblings when they were living in a smaller house before they constructed the larger house.

I remember watching an episode and thinking it was really odd that they way they constructed the new house.

There was one large boy bedroom on one side of the house that all the boys shared, then the parents room in the middle, then to get to the large room the girls shared you had to cut through the parents. That with the mom saying that only the mom and girls in the house had the internet password, led me to think something was up in that family even before the abuse allegations first became public. Once access to the girl siblings was cut off were younger boy siblings abused?

Such a messed up family and what makes it worse is they are exponentially multiplying. The Duggars now have 41 confirmed grandchildren from their first 11 kids (the youngest 8 haven't started having kids yet:

Josh age 38 - 7 kids
Jana age 36- 1 kid
John-David age 36 - 3 kids
4. Jill, age 34 - 3 kids
5. Jessa age 33 - 6 kids
6. Jinger 32- 3 kids
7. Joseph 31 4 kids
8. Josiah 29 4 kids
9. Joy-Anna 28 3 kids
10. Jedidiah 27 4 kids
11. Jeremiah 27 3 kids

No kids from
12. Jason 25 Married October 2024.
13. James 24
14. Justin 23 Married in 2021.
15. Jackson 21
16. Johannah 20
17. Jennifer 18
18. Jordyn-Grace 17
19. Josie 16

But don't let your kids go to drag brunches!

God, I hate religious fundamentalists so much. Every accusation is a confession.

Cousin Amy said that their shared grandfather was known to do such things - but was never formally charged of course. In her book she said that she was not allowed to be alone in a room with him.

I can’t imagine the mindset to put that responsibility on a young girl while not actually protecting her by removing the threat from their home.

If the young girl is, in fact, Kendra’s sister, and her dad confronted Joseph, will he insist Kendra divorce him? Beat the crap out of him?

Not just minimal job skills, the cult does not believe in educating girls so don’t even believe that they have a high school degree. Certainly no college. And just no experience navigating the outside world outside of their homes so it must be very daunting to think of leaving and of course they start having kids really long young so good luck leaving with a bunch of kids on top of no skills.

Plenty of people get paid to do home life and parenting skills. They wouldn't have to do more than this to make money.

He was too busy banging his wife to notice his kids.

I wonder how much of this behavior goes on unreported in these fundie cults.

I know in Josh’s case they knew he was a problem at an early age and they tried to handle it in house with church counseling. There a probably a lot more of these cases that are simply not taken to law enforcement.

From what I recall, Anna came from a very poor family who live in Florida. They were even more conservative fundamentalists than the Duggars, so Anna is more of a “true believer” who would stand by her man.

On the other hand, Joe’s wife, Kendra has family nearby. The Duggars used to attend her father’s church, and the father has a big personality (ahem, ego) that rivals Jim Bob. Kendra is far more likely to move in with her family than to stay on the Duggar Compound like Anna. Sadly, Kendra’s choice to divorce or remain married will probably come down to what her father allows her to do.
