| Maybe Spain will be better than our FBI! I mean what is happening with Mama Guthrie? |
|
So he left the bar with an American girl, but his phone was found with someone else (I assume a gypsy phone thief type.)
That's very odd. |
| College student goes missing after night of partying. Nothing new there. They think they are invincible. |
| I am sick about this story. Have kids same age and traveled there recently. The issue is if his phone was stolen and he was alone he wouldn’t be able to use his phone to get an Uber and get his way back home. That’s the concern is my guess so then what happened to him after that his phone got stolen. He left the bar and did he try to walk home? What happened to him? I pray he’s found alive. |
| Ihave been to Spain many times but Barcelona just once and the vibe was sinister: so much petty crime and pickpockets everywhere, shady groups of guys. I'm not sure why large Euro cities like Prague, Paris and Barcelona don't crack down on petty theft because it has been absolutely rampant, getting worse and worse too. Having foreign kids stranded at night without a phone can have disastrous consequences. |
| I don't understand why these kids don't follow the rule of never leaving someone behind in a bar. Ever. Heartbreaking. |
They do have taxi drivers and public transportation in Barcelona. |

Heartbreaking. I have a son same age |
This is so odd. Is the American girl talking? What is her story? He definitely met with foul play. Omg. What a horror. |
That is not what happened. |
The Daily Mail says his friend said he wanted to stay later at the bar and they left. Seems to be exactly what happened. |
|
Appears that he wanted to stay behind and hook up with an American girl. It does not appear he was too drunk. I read somewhere (who knows if reliable) is that she is cooperating and saw him get attacked.
So, no, not his friends fault. Happens a million times a weekend. |
I don’t think that article makes it more or less likely that he is alive or not. It was already clear he had been robbed — it’s really common for muggers to take th cash out of a wallet, take cards if they think they can use them and throw the rest in th trash or a nearby body of water to get rid of evidence. So this just shows he was robbed which we already knew. |
| I have been following this from the morning he first was missing. The reporting has been all over the place with many inaccuracies and assumptions. I trust nothing aside from what the actual family says, which is not much. |
| Was anything missing from the wallet? Is it possible he walked into the sea? The bar is right in the beach. |
