what does it mean to microdose a glp1

Anonymous
I love to microdose. No side effects whatsoever, not even a twinge of nausea and I eat pretty normally. What I've noticed is that I'm not hungry until lunch, don't snack, and after dinner I am not hungry again. I don't crave any alcohol and even if I have a glass, I only want one.

I feel like I'm living my best life. The only downside is that I really feel like cooking for my family is a chore. I never get excited about recipes I'm making anymore.

I’m 133 lbs, I’d like to drop 15 more lbs but have been stagnanted for 6 months. I couldn’t fudge my weight on WW because I already track my weight on their app.

You need a psychiatric drug, not a weight loss drug.

OP here. This is unfair. I realize my bmi is not in obese range, but I am still overweight for my height and build. Also, my bloodwork is pre-diabetic or borderline pre-diabetic at my annual checkups for the past 5 years. Even more importantly, to stay at my current weight (much less to lose weight, which is what I want to do), I think about food constantly - what can I eat for each meal, when can I have my next meal, what can I snack on that is “zero points” etc etc. It’s a mentally unhealthy place to be. Everyone on glps talks about how the “food noise” disappears, and I live with constant food noise.

I hear you re constantly thinking about food and feeling exhausted by the effort required to simply maintain your weight—let alone drop the extra pounds. I went on the lowest dose of zepbound for four months, dropped the weight and then switched to every other week. I’ve been able to maintain my weight without constantly obsessing about food and points and I don’t have any side effects. It’s not super cheap—with the every other week dosage it comes out to roughly $150/month, but it’s a wash when I factor in what I used to pay $ for various weight loss subscriptions, food/alcohol. I feel 1000 times better because I’m finally at a healthy weight. Was the weight I lost considered “vanity,” maybe. But, my bloodwork is significantly improved and I don’t consider that vanity at all. I’m now able to run again without massive joint pain. For me it was worth it and I have no regrets.

NP and we are similar. This is a great idea for you to try since it has helps bloodwork like that in others. Only one way to find out. I don't know why people want to gatekeep something that can keep us all healthier. I know the general idea is that a healthier population means lower premiums, etc. and I don't see that ever happening. But a healthier population has to be a good thing!

If you're a woman, Midi Health online platform will prescribe even if your BMI isn't "over". However, insurance likely won't cover.

Does anyone know of pharmacies in the NOVA area that are still compounding it? How much do you pay?

I loved it until I figured out that my hair was falling out and I lost 1/3 of volume.

Many GLP1 are multi use vials, mine is. This has already been explained.

Only compounded ones.

I have been on a GLP1 for 3 eyars, 2 of which are maintenance mode. I went to the lowest dose weekly, then went to the lowest dose every 2 weeks, but about a few months ago started gaining a few pounds so I upped the dose and frequency. I plan to go back to the lower dose and lower frequency soon. I don't mind taking it long term as it has had other positive side effects.

I started GLPs in October and while I do not intend to microdose, that is where I am settling. I wanted to lose 20-25 lbs, and as of now I am down 20. I stared at the lowest dose and had terrible side effects. I cut the dose in half and stayed on that dose till the side effects started to subside. Then I doubled (so back to the lowest dose) and the side effects started again. Then in January they disappeared completely. But I have been able to stay on the lowest dose since then and 8 lbs. Given my clear sensitivity to the medication, I am just going to stay on this dose for a while. If my weight plateaus here, I will soon start spreading out the doses to see if I can do this on my own. If I keep losing, I will try to get the last 5 off and then start spreading out my doses.

In other words, I am not going higher than the lowest dose due to side effects but it seems the lowest dose still got me where I need to go.

Not just GLPs but other meds as well. I had to give my cat a medication that was done the same way as GLPs (large vial with a rubber top, sterilized, and new needles for each dose).

Wow! Could you please share where you get your zepbound. How you got it? Menopause killed my weight this 12-15 pounds I keep gaining and losing the past 3 years. Prior I was the same weight for decades.

NP-Using an online service and communicate with NP but so many places now offer it. I go to a very normal obgyn practice and they now ask if it's something you'd like to address during consult.

Wow. Could you please share your practice?

How tall are you? Because I am 5'2" and 133 is a normal BMI for me. For you to be overweight at 135 means you must be shorter than me. Treat your insulin resistance issues - your doctor will likely suggest metformin first.
