what does it mean to microdose a glp1

Anonymous
I avidly read the countless threads on glp-1s. I am about 15 lbs overweight, and have constant “food noise” - I feel like I am in a constant state of thinking about food and depriving myself of food.

I am a lifetime weight watchers member and tried to get a prescription for glp-1 through them, but was not approved due to my weight (I assume I needed to be more overweight).

I see many posters mention “microdosing” glp1s - does this basically mean taking the smallest possible dose and staying at that point? If so, are you deciding to do that on your own, or is a doctor guiding you in how to microdose? Do you lose any weight with microdosing, or is it mainly to decrease food noise (that alone would be a huge win for me).

thanks

Yes, I started at the lowest dose and never needed to increase. I checked in with my prescribing doctor for dosage. It reduced food noise and appetite and I lost 20 lbs, which was more than I intended. Very happy with it.

I lost 30 lbs and am now micro dosing. For me, that means taking the lowest dose every 5 weeks instead of weekly. This makes my medication last a lot longer and thus, cheaper.
I fudged my weight online so I was approved by an online distributor.
Think outside the box, OP.

Lost 50 pounds on a glp with my primary care doctor, now staying on lowest dose now for maintenance - also with primary care doctor. My insurance covers the cost

I think it means something different to everyone. For me, I started at the lowest does of compounded tirz (prescribed by my psych), lost 30 pounds over 4 months and am super happy with my weight. So now, to me, microdosing is taking the same dose but extending it to every 2 weeks and soon to every 3 weeks.

Normally it means u get a vial, and inject lower dosage than minimal twice a week or so

What is your weight? I was 3lbs over BMI for normal and got approved for wegovy pill through WW.

Multiple injections drawn from the same vial? Is that safe/sanitary?

Bad idea with the pill. Only about 3 percent gets absorbed into the blood stream, so you need a full dose to get any effect. Microdosing to me means smaller amounts from the same vial to keep the effect and lessen side-effects.

Just reached my goal weight on Zepbound.
I see my doctor this week - in person .. Not online to start my maintenance dose which is similar to well micro dosing.

I’m 133 lbs, I’d like to drop 15 more lbs but have been stagnanted for 6 months. I couldn’t fudge my weight on WW because I already track my weight on their app.
