How do I deal with the growing support of remigration?

same- I was always very "american" but after the first trump election I am consciously making a connection to my grandparents culture for my kids and teaching them the language and and music and they use it to have a hyphenate identity.

I do also think about the Japanese americans who were interned- they didn't all get up and move to Japan. we should take inspiration from them and how they retained their sense of american identity while going through such heinous racism, we should learn from their resilience.

I agree that the powers that be would LIKE to do that, but in reality the white nationalists are a minority. Clock is ticking towards 2026.

This. The current moment sucks. But real America is a melting pot, and diversity is our strength and joy. MAGA has a flawed idea of American culture, which is based in freedom and democracy and respect for all individuals. This quest for some fictionalized idea of 'Murica is a minority obsession, and it will get quashed.

America has never been a melting pot. It is however being described more accurately as a big pot of stew, with different simmering ingredients.

Also, since its very beginnings, America has not been based in freedom, democracy, and respect for all people. Please name the period in time when that supposedly happened. It didn’t. It’s only aspirational.
