Oh for God's sake people this is not like normal times.

Republicans do not care about you they want you poor hungry and begging with your daughters breading whites. That's it and they get all the money.

Also what is going to happen to our health insurance? How are they going to get paid if we don't get backpay?

This administration doesn't give two shits.

Trump sees the US Treasury as his own bank account. Congress will not enforce anything Republicans are Congress. SCOTUS won't either so here we are Feds will never be paid.

If you believe they will you have not paid attention to the words of Peter Theil, Vought, Miller, and Trump. Shame on anyone who did not read Project 2025 and Theils writings before Trump was elected.

I've read a great deal of Project 2025. And? What exactly do you want furloughed feds to be saying or doing? Do you just want us to worry, get upset, etc., over something we have no real power to change? I don't really have any interest in that.

I don't think you should lecture anyone on writing or reading, sorry.

I look forward to the class action law suit if they don’t pay me after this. It’ll be big. Huge.

But in all honestly, I’m looking for a new job. This is ridiculous.

I don’t care. That’s where I’m at.

It's MSN/WaPo. Read real news.

It's a negotiation ploy to make the dems come to the table. The admin wants you to make hysterical calls to your dem representatives and demand that they stop their demands for free stuff for illegal immigrants.

Really you think Dems care about Fed employees? No one does. The ACA constituents are the votes they need, not DMV lifers.

Feds care about less fortunate Americans too. If you don't, that's just you.

The real reason they will get paid is that 85% of federal employees live dispersed around the country and many are Republicans. With the thin margins in all the gerrymandered districts, they are are a voting block that could change Congress from red to blue.

+1. Look at Virginia. Governor, Lt Governor and Attorney General all flipped from Republican to Democrat in one night. It wasn’t even close in a state where the federal government is a huge part of the economy. Clean sweep.

+1, and this is not "new" news. We already went through this in week 1 when Vought leaked that memo. They're down to re-runs at this point.

As of tomorrow, it will be the longest government shutdown in history and that is on Trump's watch. A UPS plane crashed and folks died. If a passenger plane goes down on his watch just as everyone is worrying about the safety of flying considering the stress TSA workers are feeling, he's done. Dems are winning all important races tonight. The GOP will have to cave. Mike Johnson should be canned as Speaker for keeping the House out of session for weeks. The shutdown will end in short order.

It's not a re-run if they're reporting on the administration continuing to say they won't pay federal workers this week. The New York Times also has it in their story about the shutdown today.

Republicans have shown time and time again that they want to inflict trauma on Federal workers. Russell Vought has said that clearly and in public. Believe them.
