Trump Admin Hints Furloughed Workers May not Be Paid After Shutdown

The admin knows full well we’ll get paid. They’re just using this as a scare tactic and when I hear KKKaroline say that fed pay is a negotiating tool, it’s just disgusting. I cannot wait until the midterms. Last night gave me hope that this complete and utter disdain for not just Feds, but all of us—all of us who weren’t invited to the great gatsby party isn’t going over well with the general public.

They’re starting to flail.

The establishment dems should too. We need them all out.

If people are neither working nor spending through the holidays, maybe Americans will finally wake the eff up and hit the streets.

I wish I could get an 8-week paid vacation

Actually, it is quite stressful. Think of a vacation where your flight is cancelled, your luggage is stolen, the hotel loses your reservation, and your significant other tells you that she is pregnant with another man's child.

I had to work until Oct 22nd unpaid. I was getting really sick but couldn’t take leave and didn’t have the normal processes available to me to get help. I ended up in the hospital. And then I don’t know whether or not I’ll be working at a given time (could be called back to work on the special project) so it’s hardly a vacation. Also, my friends in two Fed families are worried about rent / mortgage. In my state, people who are working - even if they’re not paid - can’t apply for unemployment. So unlike a planned vacation (when I continue to get paid) or even unpaid leave after my kids were born (when I could save / determine how long I was comfortable going unpaid) this is quite different.
