All true. And yet Democrats today poll as badly as Trump. That’s a big problem. It’s no wonder party identification is failing off a cliff and everyone is registering independent. People don’t like Democrats either. |
| No. You will do what they tell you. |
Dems poll poorly because no leader has stepped up to right the ship since the Biden disaster. When an appealing leader steps up who can effectively communicate to the American people, Biden will be forgotten in an instant. That's really all people want- a real leader. Even if Dems don't find an elite leader by 2028, they'll be able to beat the Trump stained GOP with a weak or mediocre candidate like they did in 2020 but let's strive for a two term POTUS this time. |

The problem with our politics is that in every election we elect one side, that side screws up while in office, and then the electorate gets mad and punishes the party in power by electing the other side. Every election is won based on the electorate’s negative opinion on the party in power, not their positive opinions about the challenger party.
The problem is that the challenger party, once in office, assumes that they were placed there because the electorate really likes them and all their extremist ideas. So they go about trying to implement their extremist ideas, and the electorate gets mad at them and puts the other party back in power. At some point the Democrat left will be put back in power. They’ll assume a mandate for their wet dream Democrat left ideas, try to implement them, and promptly be thrown back out. |
I think it's more about the absence of leadership from the top. The public turned on Trump and Biden so quickly because they are pathetically weak leaders. We want leadership out of our POTUS; not policy overhauls no one asked for. We should be looking at Congress for necessary policy updates and changes but don't even get me started on our inept and corrupt Congress. |
I don’t think you understand how much a black president messed up the nation’s psyche. All the decorum goes and anything is possible after that. |
Obama was a good leader and a solid two term POTUS. We are in the midst of a 12 year run being led by 8 years of the worst POTUS ever and 4 years of the second worst POTUS ever and your sorry racist 80 IQ arse wants to blame the "black" president???? Go jump off of a cliff, moron. |

The groundwork is already being laid for a pendulum swing, and you can see it in the culture (culture is upstream from politics). Elegant, conservative clothing is very fashionable, with endless tiktok videos instructing women on how to look and behave "old money," "elegant," and "ladylike." The youth are rejecting partying and increasingly adopting more religious attitudes. Longform media is very popular now, and shunning the internet is becoming a flex.
This will hit the left and right alike. The left's "yaasss queen" let-it-all-hang-out vibe, and the right's 4chan troll memefication. The youth see that it's all ugly and empty. |
Other than your juvenile insults, you haven’t proven me wrong at all. |
It will swing back because the independents because the two major parties have gone off the rails. They want sanity. |
I said similarly the other day in another post. I don’t understand how the party people cannot understand this. Or maybe they do, which is why they push their extreme positions while they can hoping the other side can’t recover. In any case, they’ve gotten away from helping the people. |
Umkay, buddy.... how do I even start to counter your belief that the mess we are in has nothing to do with the two elderly unfit white guys and everything to do with the color of Obama's skin. You aren't worth the time. |
Well, you’re wrong. Obama was the beginning of downward spiral, then came millions of brown people and here we are. |
Rachel Maddow and the entire CNN network would beg to differ. The left message is out there, and not that hard to find. Example: Mamdani Is a national figure at this point, even though only running (really winning) NY mayoral race. |
You're a real smart one.... |
