Will the pendulum swing?

So, once we are finally done with Trump, will the pendulum swing back? Trump has brought to light everything that is wrong and ineffective about our system of government. The whole thing relies on having a president who cares about the rule of law and is a basically decent person. Will we fix the system now that we know how easily it can be hacked? There are too many things to name here, but I honestly think we need everything from term limits for congress to an aptitude test for candidates. Someone with a criminal record should be a no go for any public office. My friend had a dui 25 years ago, and Canada didn’t let him in their country last year because of it. But here we are, electing a felon as potus, and people even contemplating how he could still govern from prison if it came to that. What has happened to this country? I am all over the place right now, but basically I hope the pendulum swings back toward having very high standards for our elected officials. They should be the best and brightest in their field. This is how far we have fallen - Dan Quayle was basically ousted from society when he couldn’t spell potato. Trump posted “south carerdddd” and we hardly flinched.

George Bush was banned from Canada due to his dui.

And Americans lined up to get a human trafficker returned.

It will swing back when Democrats decide they're done with social engineering and actually want most of the country back. Right now, Democrats are force teaming the policies voters want with wildly unpopular policies like transgenderism and voters are saying no to the false premise.

It will swing back big time. The pendulum always swings back. Not sure when - maybe in 5-10 years time. There will be a huge uproar from the working and middle class over the disgusting gilded elite, back room deals, and corruption, the scuttling of Congressional power (the people’s power).

I think ordinary Americans on the right, left and in between will be united.

It swings slowly but it always swings.

FDR TRIED to pack the court but didn't succeed. Trump did succeed in packing the court aided and abetted by the malevolent McConnell and I look forward to the 48 hours after his death!

People are bored with your trans hysteria. Try a new argument.

Obama was a social engineering experiment and everything went downhill after him.

This, the only constant is change. It might not change back to the way it was, but hopefully something better. But it also might take 30 or 50 years for that.

The brighter it burns the faster it dies. You can already feel the shift happening.

Looking deeper in to the recent polls. There are things like do you think Trump is actively making the economy worst. 65% say yes.

Now look at the open corruption, failures and lies. Inflation is through the roof. The job market sues. Israel and Russia are still fighting. Russia is leading Trump around by the noise. The Chinese crushed Trump and then dismissed him. MS media graveling at his feet. Federal agents attacking US citizens. The list is too long too to print. No one believes the country is on the right track.

Everything Trump does is wrong, cost taxpayers tons of money and he does not care about Americans. This is the consistent narrative online.

Trump was fired once. Now everyone remembers why.

“Transgenderism”? You obviously fell for Fox News propaganda and MAGA panic. Dems are concerned with many other issues before this one. We just need to get better at fighting propaganda.

Obama was about as centrist and middle of the road as you can get. Even his signature health care plan was a Republican plan - back in the day when Republicans still cared about health care. Obama was an extremely successful two term president because he was pragmatic, was guided by common sense, and was a fundamentally decent and empathetic person.

If Democrats could get back to that, they’d win forever. But the Mamdanis and Charles Allen types are the core of the Democratic Party today. And that’s not winning national elections. People really hate the soft on crime, endless illegal immigration, and race based hiring that this generation of Democrats espouse.

Democrats have a policy problem. The Biden years were a disaster for Democrats. And until that gets sorted out, they’re going to have to tough time in national elections - especially once Trump is gone.

Yes, the pendulum will eventually swing back. Trump will break the GOP party for decades to come. Democrats won’t have all the answers, but they will come out of this dark period in much better shape.

So tired of MAGA and their baseless fears.

It can take 8 years for a full swing when the American public elects fit and normal presidents. When we elect unfit elderly presidents, it swings much more quickly as we've witnessed since 2017.
