That's not it. Most liberal arts colleges feel like (no, they actually are) country clubs. Middlebury is the epitome of country club colleges. Most liberal arts colleges are also setup for ivy rejects (cough cough "smart enough"). Maybe except for Swarthmore.

We visited Middlebury and Swarthmore, totally different vibes. Middlebury is preppy, lots of NYC private kids. Swarthmore full of strivers, insufferable, very very intense. Surprisingly there are very few tech immigrant kids at Swarthmore.

2nd gen ORM parent here. Swarthmore still doesn’t have the same brand/name recognition as the T-25’s in immigrant communities which is a shame because I’d rather have my kid at Swarthmore than at a lot of T-25’s.

Above poster continued. My ORM kid looked at Richmond and I’d rather have them at Richmond than at most of the T-25’s.

Nothing worse than trying to be an elitist when no one knows who you are and you are most certainly not elite.

What ignorance. Ever been on Richmond’s campus? The law school? Know anything about it? No, of course not. You’re as snobby and elitist and as ignorant as OP… and I have nothing to do with Richmond but at least have been there and know of its offering..

And if you really have worked in BigLaw, as I have, you would know that no one looks at undergrad when hiring lawyers … it’s all about the T14 and Law Review.

I’m pretty sure PP is a teenage troll and just plays “big law” on the internet.

Agree. Swat is not into tech immigrants' kids. Highly focus on first gen and low income. It's better to keep it that way.

Richmond is the most “wanna be” elite school ever. Desperate to be taken seriously. Trying to gain credibility through the patriot league.

You suck, nerd. Either your kid didn't get in or you couldn't afford to send them.

Only Richmond grad I know is a stay at home mom. Nothing wrong with that. Nice lady. A little slow and dull but to each their own.

I’d rank Richmond slightly below Elon, Furman, Sewanee and Rhodes. UR is fine. Firmly in the second tier below the top academic schools in the South. I personally think Elon is the strongest of the second tier small southern schools. Then Furman and Sewanee. Rhodes and Richmond are two peas in a pod, although if I had to choose I would choose Rhodes.

Richmond has to be the most secular city in America. It couldn’t be more different than North Carolina, which is growing and drawing in people from all over the world. Richmond is for people who syill think the south will rise again.

Not as strong as Elon.
