What’s the deal with Richmond??

Anonymous
Is the same person continuing to post “what’s the deal” and just list a different school each time?

Are you trying to become the next Seinfeld?

I think Richmond is an easier admit, and one of only few top 30 lacs that has an EA round.

It’s also one of few top lacs that remains accessible to high stats UMC kids. They also offer merit.

Wasn't there just another post last week dissing on Richmond? Why?

This site loves to hate Richmond. Juniata, too.

I don’t even know what you mean by “elitist admissions culture.” I’m not even sure what you mean by admissions culture.

Elon is far better than Richmond. Everyone knows it. Richmond snobs can’t accept it.

The only U Richmond grad I know is an assistant manager at Taco Bell. Does a lot of coke. Crazy guy.

Every single person who constantly posts anti Richmond nonsense on this forum is either a troll or a tard. (Or more likely both.) It's a great school, maybe a half step below Davidson and W&L. Look at the rankings and the endowment. They don't lie.

Me neither. Richmond is still test optional, probably will continue so in the next few years or even permanently. Nothing elitist about their admissions.

I’ve worked in DC big law for 20 years. Never met a Richmond grad. Occasional see it on a resume. Usually a hard pass.

It’s the campus. It feels like a country club. Rich parents can easily picture their child living there. It is a cushy setup for “smart enough” rich kids to meet other “smart enough” rich kids.

In all fairness, there are a lot of schools like this.

That's not it. Most liberal arts colleges feel like (no, they actually are) country clubs. Middlebury is the epitome of country club colleges. Most liberal arts colleges are also setup for ivy rejects (cough cough "smart enough"). Maybe except for Swarthmore.

We visited Middlebury and Swarthmore, totally different vibes. Middlebury is preppy, lots of NYC private kids. Swarthmore full of strivers, insufferable, very very intense. Surprisingly there are very few tech immigrant kids at Swarthmore.
