Why is it so hard to meet moderate women?

Is OK with people having guns but still sees them as a massive problem in our country that we need to do something about.

Prefers a strong border and tough on crime mentality.
Thinks we should love everyone including LGBT community; yes gay people should be able to get married.

We’ve just been too polarized to toe the party line on everything instead of viewing everything with nuance. So it’s a challenge when it comes to finding the right partner in dating.

Few of these are moderate positions.

A moderate doesn’t believe abortion “is clearly wrong.” They believe this is a personal matter left to the individual to decide in consultation with doctors.

A moderate probably does not like Trump at all. That’s true.

A moderate is probably can tolerate individual gun ownership and be for stronger gun control, yes.

A moderate understands the nature of science is challenging everything so vaccines and the like have already been fully vetted from that perspective. Your rhetoric about dogma is not a moderate position. It’s one held by a paranoid idiot who is poorly educated and doesn’t know what science IS.

A moderate is someone who is welcome to immigrants and realizes they are good for the country both economically and socially. So no, a moderate doesn’t really believe in a “strong” border. That’s right wing talk.

Similarly, a moderate believes in rehabilitation not punishment for crime. “Tough on crime” is an extreme right-wing mentality held by dysfunctional thinkers.

LBTQ support is mainstream already, so that’s hardly staked out as a “moderate” position.

Climate change being a serious problem, sure. But what does a moderate want to do about it? What do YOU?

Belief in God isn’t really a moderate thing, that’s a deeply personal one. But if you’re a superstitious type, sure, you probably want to find someone else with similar magical thinking. But it has zero to do with being moderate.

Cutting the deficit. Again, HOW? That is where the rubber meets the road in judging who is a moderate. A moderate would likely believe tax burdens should be shifted to put more onus on higher income people and we should look at cutting defense spending before social programs.

We did until the GOP took our rights away.

So sad that it's considered radical now for a woman to want to have control over her own body. What a dissident!

I have a daughter of my own and can't bear that she will have fewer rights than I will.
No moderation for me.

You think your daughter will have fewer rights than you did?

Interesting, I think the opposite. I experienced terrible sexual harassment in the 90s, including being sexually assaulted by a coworker at one point. The stuff that was tolerated back, then would be much less likely to be tolerated now.

Worried about abortion? Abortion is legal in most states. I’m assuming you live in one, since you’re on a DC based forum.

What rights exactly do you think you had that your daughter won’t?

I think some lefties, and certainly some moderates, think abortion is wrong. Few of them would criminalize abortion, but some might.

Lots of people have different opinions on lots of issues. There are conservatives who support gay marriage. There are liberals who support gun rights.

this is so important. Die hard supporters of right or left are so unattractive.

I agree with you on most of these, except immigration was way out of control and hurts our schools, hospitals, public safety, and overall quality of life. There are rules in place that people need to follow if they want to live here. No jumping the line allowed.

Thinks it wrong or wont have one themselves. You seem to be for a lot of personal freedom....except for womens reproductive rights. They usually go hand in hand.

I guess I’d consider myself “moderate” and most of your points are right but hard disagree on the crime point. Rehabilitation instead of punishment is very left wing thinking. I think most “moderates” would incorporate some elements of both.

Agree that the “strong” border is right wing talk but I don’t think moderates support completely open borders either.

The only women who think that abortion is clearly wrong are radical MAGA or Christian Nationalist lunatics. Moderate women do not want the government deciding on their healthcare.

Punishment, scientifically and statistically, does not work. We have never in the history of this country had open borders. That's another right wing talking point.

That ended when MAGA purged traditional conservatives from the party.

We got kicked out of both parties by the idiots in charge, and we are now in hiding.

There is still sexual harassment now and it is worse with the leader of the country and his party a total misogynist.
Women are being purged from the military and from the higher ranks of corporate America.
Abortion is basically not legal in several states and in still more, no practitioners are even still around, so functionally banned.

With cuts in higher education and the workforce, opportunities that existed even two years ago are now gone.
