Dreading my second shot (Zepbound)

Day 1 was fine, Day 2 I felt some mild nausea, Day 3 I woke up very early (4 am?) with nausea, dizziness, sweating, and an urgency to use the bathroom (I can't bring myself to be vulgar here). Once I did, the sweating, dizziness, and worst of the nausea subsided. The episode maybe lasted an hour. Low level blah and nausea the remainder of the day. In the days since, I've felt fine 80% of the time with some low level nausea and just blah-ness. But I'm dreading my second shot tomorrow. Any advice to help minimize the size effects? I've added in daily electrolytes hoping this might help. Anyone have a similar experience on the first shot and then they leveled out?

Today was the first day that I worked out since injection day and I didn't feel as strong as I usually do. I typically work out 4-5 days/ week (pilates/ barre) and I'm worried I am going to be missing workouts and losing muscle instead of fat. Hoping it evens out and I begin to feel like myself again - any tips welcome!

Where did you inject?

This is OP reporting back. I am happy to share that my side effects have reduced dramatically. Week 2 side effects were unpleasant, but certainly not as bad as week 1. I also had a splitting headache the day after the Week 2 injection - not sure if that is related or not. Spent week 2 with relatively low-level nausea. Week 3 was my best so far. The side effects seemed to pretty much vanish and even the nausea was very, very mild. Week 4, I've had some low level nausea (more than week 3?). I'll say that at this point, I think of this less as a "miracle drug," and more as a different hard way to lose weight. I've lost 6 lbs over almost 4 weeks, which is pretty remarkable for me (I am short!).

I did a lot of Reddit surfing and made a few adjustments. I don't know if they were the reason for the change, or if it was a result of my body acclimating.
- Changed injection site to thigh beginning in Week 2 (week 1 was in my stomach)
- Began using one electrolyte packet each day (I typically drink a lot of water anyway)
- Tried really hard to increase my protein. I have a "rough goal" of getting 30 mg each meal. I dont always get there.

Thanks for the update, I'm so glad you stuck with it. I was one of the ones who told you my first week was by far my worst too. I'm at week 30 something now and I feel nothing side effect-wise. It's so much nothing now compared to the beginning that I often wonder if I'm injecting water.

Has anyone checked their blood sugar when having the side effects of nausea, shaking, headache? Just curious if that could be the cause.

Anonymous wrote:What have you been eating? Zepbound has helped me to maintain a very clean diet. If I eat something heavy, oily, or buttery, I feel gross. If I eat a clean diet (lean meats, vegetables, grains, fruits, yogurt, etc.), I feel just fine. I haven't had any side effects outside of TE/hair loss.

This was my experience too. Anything "junk food" was guaranteed to make me feel ill. But also, the urge to eat that stuff just disappeared, so it wasn't actually a problem. I found as long as I exercised a smidgen of self control around alcohol and junk food, the side effects were minimal. But a second drink or a handful of chips? Probably gonna lose it. [/quote]
This seems like a torturous method of weight loss.

A tortuous method of weight loss is…. Not feeling like having a second handful of chips? Please elaborate

I felt nauseated and tired after my first injection and was also anxious about giving myself the second one, since the nausea and gross feeling was finally fading by the end of the 7 days! But- the second shot caused none of that. I’m only 4 weeks in, but I my only “side effect” now is appetite suppression and no longer having cravings for sweets or snacks.
I will say that my endurance for exercise (I’m a runner) feels shot. My running pace has gone from about 10min a mile to 12min a mile and I’m reaching my max heart rate and needing to take walk breaks after less than a mile sometimes. I’m assuming it’s a combination of weeks of such a low calorie intake and some muscle loss (although my legs aren’t sore and tired- it’s my cardio!). It is very frustrating and I’m trying to add more carbs and proteins (and calories) to my days this week to see if it helps. Also drinking electrolytes before and after.
