I took my first shot of Zepbound 6 days ago (the 2.5/ lowest dose). Day 1 was fine, Day 2 I felt some mild nausea, Day 3 I woke up very early (4 am?) with nausea, dizziness, sweating, and an urgency to use the bathroom (I can't bring myself to be vulgar here). Once I did, the sweating, dizziness, and worst of the nausea subsided. The episode maybe lasted an hour. Low level blah and nausea the remainder of the day. In the days since, I've felt fine 80% of the time with some low level nausea and just blah-ness. But I'm dreading my second shot tomorrow. Any advice to help minimize the size effects? I've added in daily electrolytes hoping this might help. Anyone have a similar experience on the first shot and then they leveled out?
Today was the first day that I worked out since injection day and I didn't feel as strong as I usually do. I typically work out 4-5 days/ week (pilates/ barre) and I'm worried I am going to be missing workouts and losing muscle instead of fat. Hoping it evens out and I begin to feel like myself again - any tips welcome! |
| I don't know but thank you for sharing. Helps me not feel remiss in not signing up for this. Good luck. |
| It doesn't agree with you. Decide if this is how you want to lose weight. Yeah, you'll get thin, but you'll feel like a$$ a lot of the time. |

Sorry you had such a strong negative reaction. I don't have any real suggestions other than to talk with your doctor to decide how long you are willing to give your body a chance to acclimate. Personally, what you described would make it a one-and-done for me. I've only had low-level nausea for a day or two after the shot, which is entirely manageable.
Not everyone tolerates it well, and, as disappointing as it may be, it might simply not be a good option for you. |
| It takes some time to get used to it. I’ve been on it for almost 9 months and I occasionally do get a week or it makes me feel pretty bad other weeks I’m just fine. |
| I was pretty sick for about a month like what you described but then my body acclimated. I’m fine now. |
| Are you injecting in the stomach? Try the thighs. |
| Check out the Zepbound subreddit. Lots of advice there! |
Not normal at all. I’ve been on zepbpund with zero side effects at all. If you are feeling his way at lowest dose then maybe this drug is not for you. |
Yes! My first week was by leaps and bounds my worst week. It got better for the second week, a little better for the third, and it was the fourth week when I finally felt "normal." This too will pass, it's really worth it. I definitely ate some foods that first week that didn't agree with the new protocol in my body. But I learned. I'm 7 months in now, still on the starter dose just maintaining, and I feel nothing at all after shot day now. |
| What have you been eating? Zepbound has helped me to maintain a very clean diet. If I eat something heavy, oily, or buttery, I feel gross. If I eat a clean diet (lean meats, vegetables, grains, fruits, yogurt, etc.), I feel just fine. I haven't had any side effects outside of TE/hair loss. |

I’m sorry you are going through this. My first week I got terrible headaches and no pain meds helped. I still had them for the second shot but the intensity wasn’t as bad. At that point I didn’t know if I could continue but wanted to try to stick it out. They were gone by the end of the third week.
I stayed on 2.5 for 3 boxes and dreaded moving up because I was worried the same thing would happen but it didn’t when we finally increased the dose. No side effects. The only time I get nauseous is when I eat anything with grease in it but I generally don’t want fatty foods so I’m naturally avoiding those anyway. Same as above with the very clean diet. Those are the foods I crave now. |
| Eat a lot of protein. Take it on a full stomach. Stay hydrated and have electrolytes everyday. Use a different injection site this time. I swear by all these. |
| What were you eating? Diarrhea is a very atypical side effect unless you eat a lot of fat. |

Ask your Dr for Zofran. Take it an hour or so before you take your next go round of Zep. Good Luck. |
