I was 28. He was 27.

We had an afternoon church wedding followed by 4-hour reception. Stayed at the Hay Adams on our wedding night. Left for 3 week honeymoon in Europe the next morning.

This was the late 90s before weddings became 5 day affairs and after parties with costume changes, etc.

Um. What?

Maybe not 5 days but 4 is common.

Small gathering for people who are in town. But it might be 20 people.

“Rehearsal” dinner.

Wedding. Many bridal couples arrange an after party.

Brunch.

You sound fun

+1
But the honeymoon was great!

No.
Another country. Both of us were in long term romantic relation for several years before our parents agreed. Both virgins. I was spooked with the pain. Thought there was something wrong with me. Stopped mid-way for that night. And then next day was more rituals and stuff. Anyways, it was the third day before we reached the isolated cabin where we were honeymooning. We tried again and success! Later on ...great success. Been married for 35 years now.

No we poured ourselves into bed at 5am for a nap and I think I was up by 7. But once we got to honeymoon location the next day yes. Does that count if we didn’t really sleep til we did it?

Yes and then my husband woke up super sick with a respiratory thing the next morning so it's good we did!
Anonymous
We did. We waited until that night to ditch condoms so that made it special.

How sad for you.

NP. The only thing “sad” here is how narrow-minded you are. You would be up in arms if someone was shaming people for choosing to live together or sleep together before marriage, but you feel very free to shame others who make different choices. You are a massive hypocrite.

Signed, someone who both slept with and lived with people before marriage

Nice...thank you! That was my post + am still married 43 years later.

Yep...kind of a quickie, cause we had to be up real early for a flight out.
3 x that day once at the destination. I was shooting air by the end.

You feel sad for the person who did not fornicate. The irony of your comment.
