Yeah, that seems accurate to me. It frustrates me because interesting threads get locked or things are deleted. Meanwhile my sense is those ‘reporters’ are often the nasty in other posts but who knows? There was a poster in a thread I was on recently who was insulting people left and right, and a few posts clapped back at her/him. Those posts were deleted, not the op’s. |

The nasty *posters* |
Parenting: Special Concerns has a poster who is absolutely convinced that anything that happened is the fault of the woman.
|
I used to see them on teens forum most, but now I see them everywhere. It seems like people are angry and frustrated overall these days. |
Religion gets very nasty (and overly political). |
Lol |
I see that a lot in the parenting boards. Anything that happens with the kid is because the parents- mostly the mom of course- is a terrible person |
Many different posters or just a few? Sometimes I think I recognize styles! There’s a very angry poster in the Pet forum even who seems to post a lot. |
The royalists in entertainment are so creepy. They are just as weird as the InfoWars Q Anon types in politics. |
College attracts people who are genuinely mentally ill |
You haven’t noticed how they’ve become connected? |
You're surprised that people moralize about weight? "Diet and exercise" is really the weight loss forum; people can choose foods and exercise for all sorts of reasons IRL, but on DCUM, your goal has to be weight loss. |
I remember that thread on India. I posted to it because I lived in India for a few years and subsequently travelled there for work 15+ times. Figured I'd share what I know. Then one day I went back to check it and it was locked. I dont' even remember anything particularly bad on the thread. There were some people posting bad (imo) advice and ignoring some of the concerns you might face as a solo female traveller, but nothing compared to some of the hate I've seen on other topics. |
Agree. I wonder if people really are that crazy about this stuff or it’s some PR firms bot. |
Any of the sports ones, especially swimming and soccer. It's amazing how intense people are about kids' sports. |
