This topic was already a thread just a few weeks ago.

1) College
2) Private Schools (hell hath no fury like those paying $40k a year)
3) Money and Finance--most of the posts are so stupid,
(ex: I am poor even though I earn 800K a year), I have to think people are just trolling.

+1

+100 A lot of nasty people emboldened to say awful things on an anonymous forum they could never say in real life.

Haha DCUrbanmom is pretty mild.

Religion

Quite a few posters in there seem to think that they have the answers to philosophical arguments that have been around since forever.

the now removed sexually explicit relationship forum was weird. lots of women posting photos of their naked boobs

Thankfully I've never met these people on a team speaking like they do there. I can see why people complain about soccer parents though after reading that forum.

Sometimes I’m surprised by what gets deleted or locked, eg it seems fairly innocuous. I recall being really interested in this thread on traveling to India (I was thinking about a trip) and it was locked because someone was posting about safety for women travelers. Seemed like a fair discussion and I didn’t understand why it was locked.

But other times it seems like there are really disruptive and aggressive posters who don’t seem to be restricted at all. I often wonder if some of the nasty posts are from the same poster as there are a few who seem to have a telling posting ‘style’, but who knows?

If it isn’t reported, the moderator probably never sees it. If you report the disruptive and aggressive posts, they typically disappear.

I can't wrap my head around the Entertainment forum. Hundreds of pages about people that 95% of the population has no idea exists.

Didn’t someone recently post the same question?

I think there are a bunch of babies on here who report things that hurt their thin skin when they can just click away. I've seen it in interesting discussions like you mention, PP.

I don't know, but I love it when the Book Forum and the Food Forum gets spicy. It's like, really, the calmest, happiest topics and someone's gotta come in and bring their Type A BS?
