Exactly. Unfortunately, these craven attacks on our constitutional rights are being authored from within by individuals and groups who serve a foreign nation that’s indifferent to America’s suffering. |
WELL WELL WELL you will always find a reason to lay blame at their feet. Its despicable. |
Removing feelings: anyone here on a Visa is a guest. As a guest they are welcome here at the pleasure of the government. You don’t the rules in place to keep your Visa? Fine you get to leave. Forcibly if necessary. Because again; THEY ARE GUESTS. |
Can you show me where the US constitution says that if you’re a guest in the US, the same freedoms don’t apply to you? I’ll wait. |
They were able to protest. Afterwards, they were no longer welcomed "guests" and have to leave. |
Based on what "law"? |
You have no idea what "most Americans" are thinking. |
Foreign nationals are granted rights, but holding a visa comes with specific rules that must be followed. Violating these rules can lead to the revocation of the visa. Protesting, especially in an effort to demand changes in the host country, is not advisable, as maintaining our national interest means we cannot allow foreign agitators to remain. Any crime, no matter how minor, can also lead to visa cancellation. For example, an individual who vandalized trucks with graffiti was removed. It is essential to enforce a zero-tolerance policy for crime, violence, and support for terrorist organizations. Remember, they are guests in this country. |
Did a "law" grant them visas? |
Ok. Go ahead and think that most Americans were in favor and continue to be in favor of more protests at A.erican universities. |
Yes. I have come to realize this enforcement surge is like a zero tolerance policy. (Or “one strike you are out”). Vandalize? trespass? Interact with the criminal courts or even the university behavior /university sex assault codes? Yep, that’s enough to draw scrutiny in this new era. It’s shocking but it’s not illegal. The “you authored on Op Ed” reasons for removal are tough — those should probably be looked at, if it’s the ONLY reason. These students were not peacefully protesting with space permits. They weren’t. |
Why did you lie in your post, OP? Both links show that the FBI had search warrants. |
Hurt fees fees don't justify trampling on people's rights. Protest is meant to be inconvenient. |
From OP’s link: the raids "were not related to protest activity on the campus of the University of Michigan” |
No it absolutely is not. Gathering in the town square to voice your concerns and lift up signs isn’t inconvenient. Write a letter to the newspaper - definitely not inconvenient. Show up in the streets blocking traffic and holding drivers hostage for example, and you are committing a crime and deserve consequences. |
