It's based on surveys of C-suite subscribers to For es, so it's only going to be shaken up if they change their minds |
I imagine once news sites start posting about this these schools will see increased interested. So call it stupid all you want, but Americans are very easily swayed. Binghamton had a massive increase in applicants after appearing on last year's list |
If the ivies are so distasteful they should come up with a new catch phrase. |
It’s better for everyone to just stop pretending that the Ivies are somehow intrinsically different or better than other colleges. It’s just an athletic league; other than that and geography, they don’t necessarily have tremendous similarities. Other colleges don’t need to call themselves Ivy+, or Hidden Ivies, or Public Ivies. Many of these are already better than some Ivies as it is. |
It’s not rankings- Ivies is the experience, the campus, the academic exploration,,,, not strict wake up, uniforms, etc |
The one Cornell booster on here probably cried reading this |
I think it would be best if everyone also stopped pretending they have great knowledge about a vast amount of schools. You know your own and a bit about your kids. The rest you presume to know from a brief visit, here-say, anecdotes from acquaintances, and online fodder. |
You think less of a school because a random unaffiliated magazine puts on a meaningless list? Mmmkay. |
I think the fact that you read that comment as aggressive or angry is where you should take many breaths. It’s just true. |
When they tout it in their marketing, yes. Comes off desperate and I think they are better than that. |
No objections to any of the other publics on the list. Funny. |
I hear you but it seems flimsy reasoning to cross it off your list. |
Make your point… |
W&M has been referred to as a “public ivy” since before that term was a thing. It’s only recently seen a slip in ranking. |
I did |
