Maybe a little socialization would do more to set them up for success in life. Don't underestimate the value of soft skills when it comes to success in adulthood.

The poster doesn’t say what classes her kid is taking. There are lots of valid reasons for kids to be struggling with school that won’t prevent a kid from doing well in MS, HS or College. Some kids need a bit more time to complete work and absorb the information. It sounds like the Posters child is working hard at school. Hopefully that will pay off for the child.

I hope you're a troll. If not, you should consider removing your child from AAP and Honors classes, she clearly does not belong in them. Mine doesn't have to work nearly this hard - Carson AAP.

I always tell DD to fill the blank don’t spend so much time but she won’t listen. I tell her grades are not important just don’t get F, but even for a 28/30 test she insisted to retake. Taking forever to polish a sentence, so hours a paragraph. Equal amount of workload, younger DC’s able to finish in 1/3 or 1/2 time of DD’s, but with messy work, and just can’t get as good grades as DD even both in advanced.

Same! Our elementary school sucked in comparison to our experience at Carson. At Carson we finally had teachers who knew their subject and were professional!

My third DD is in Carson now. We've only had positive experiences but they've also been in AAP classes.

The bus PP about the rape threats was concerning. I appreciate DCUM for things like that, because I could speak with DD and confirm it wasn't happening on her bus. If it had been, I would have supported DCUM and reported it.
