Is Rachel Carson dangerous?

Just confirming tape threat. Kid was removed from bus. He returned two weeks later and is now forced to sit at front of bus. My guess is they pulled audio or video and confirmed. According to my 8th graders group who has a friend on bus a ton of kids were interviewed but “no one would snitch”. Feel free to confirm with school. It is a pretty well known incident at school this year because Carson is usually super safe and tame environment. TBH this incident makes me feel safer knowing I have two more kids to go through Carson not less safe. Admin handled it. It’s done.

Great! We noticed the admin is fabulous about handling stuff - they work efficiently and quickly. We love Carson!

If this is all true, kudos to the admin at Carson. Other schools should take note.

Thank you. That OP never responded so I appreciate this. Great to know they took action.

The same kid?! Either way, good that Carson is letting the community know. Most schools would've swept it under the rug.

That's a ridiculous statement. Most middle schools are safe.

What's your data to support this absurdity?

Carson and Rocky Run are 2 of the top middle schools in FCPS. Everyone knows this.

Fine. But you still haven't cited any sources to support your claim that no other middle school is as safe as Carson.

Other great middle schools in the county include:

Cooper
Longfellow
Franklin
Kilmer
Thoreau

I don’t need data to support my claim. My kid went there and it was great and safe. All of our friends alls loved it. You’re free to look for data if you want.

You just ended up sounding like an idiot.

No because like I said, all our friends loved it. Stuff like this happens at every middle school. It doesn’t mean it isn’t safe. Do you have some kind of vendetta against Carson? You’re hell bent on getting the narrative out that it’s somehow not “safe.”

You do understand that this is not exactly an uncommon thing, right? It happens far more frequently then you think. Heck, when my kid was in K a kid at after care threatened to kill him and said she had a knoife inher bag. We called the program; they searched the kids' bag and didn't find a knife.

I got the email. A kid brought a knife and showed it to another kid. That kid reported it to an adult. The adult searched the kids bag and found the knife. The kid was being disciplined. The system worked the way it is supposed to. Kids are learning to report weapons because they have been taught to and they are becoming more aware of how the weapons are a threat.

Another win for the admin at Carson - they are swift and direct. It feels very safe to me.

Anonymous wrote:Seems like when the hundreds of Franklin AAP kids go back there, as they should, Carson will be a fairly typical FCPS middle school. It coasts on the reputation of the AAP kids.

Like McNair Upper, it’s almost like they send the worst principal to an AAP center to hide the incompetence and and pad her stats. Many parents have to learn the hard way about what they have gotten their children into.
