Is this clip really demonstrative of how Trump voters feel about the trans community?

Generally it’s just transgender or trans for short.

For now.

What?

I read that in a Lil Wayne voice. Okay!

Okay.

I also really hate the fact that she "fought" her way into the Citadel, yet has a problem with letting transpeople in. (FWIW I don't think the Citadel is a place for either).

Her dad was the commandant. Tough battle that was to be the second female admitted. Extreme DEI admit plus nepo baby.

And a court order commanding them to admit women.

Her fundraising will be something along the lines of "I stood up for keeping men out of women's sports and bathrooms and was attacked for it". She will not disclose her own provocation because that would not be effective in raising funds simply because most Trump supporters don't support such behavior.

I'm a reluctant Trump voter, not MAGA, but I did vote Trump this time. I do not support self-ID, trans women in women's spaces, or the way the left has swung too hard towards the extreme on trans issues. At the same time, I don't support what Nancy Mace is doing. It's possible to fight back against excesses without gleeful cruelty. Refraining from using words for a population that the group considers to be slurs on them isn't a lot to ask. Trans people are Americans too and they're entitled to liberty and the pursuit of happiness like all of us. A trans person should be able to go to work, pick up their kid from school, go grocery shopping, get medical care, get married, and live life without being afraid they'll be called names and shamed in the streets. That's not what this should be about.

Every social issue is a headache and heartache nowadays because both parties are extreme. Trump and Mace are going to take this backlash too far, but Dems aren't going to turn moderate either. Crappy choices all the time.

I agree with all of this. But as to the bolded, many, many women have said they consider cis, menstruator, etc to be slurs. That has not been respected at all. In fact, women who politely said they didn’t like those terms have been told to shut up and worse from trans rights advocates. Some got rape threats for that. I’m not defending Mace’s use of the slur, but I see very little reflection from trans rights advocates for their use of demeaning slurs.

I think there needs to be some accountability across the board here.

Trump RAN on a transphobic platform. His main ad, on which he spent millions and millions of dollars, was 'kamala is for they/ them - president trump is for you'.

it's all disgusting on a level i find it hard to even fathom.

This is why they are such a target. They are a very small marginalized community. The GOP legislation being passed primarily hurts children in school and even easier target. Children do not have a strong lobby group. Nancy Mace is picking an easy, vulnerable target to try to make herself look tough.

But they are pro life right.-good "christians" right .... they do not care about children in any way. The last two weeks prove it over and over again.

PP here. I agree with you completely. The trans movement lost me the day some nut thought up degrading terms like "birthing bodies" and "people with vaginas" and all of them got on board with it. I haven't worked this hard in my life to be seen and respected only to be reduced to my body's functions so that trans women can be gratified. I'm a woman, no modifier needed or accepted.

I'm the Trump voter who posted above about disagreeing with the use of slurs. Let's not get carried away about Democrats either. Chemically castrating children in service of a political ideology is as wrong as it gets.

I don't get her... used to like her.

Anyway, she always looked to me like a man with boobs pasted on. She has a weird figure, very manly.

She’s not just some yahoo on twitter. She’s is a committee meeting that has rules of decorum. Fetterman can’t wear a sweatshirt, but she can use slurs? Give me a break.

Accusing a woman of looking like a man just because she's calling out men who falsely claim to be women isn't the flex you think it is.

Transgender people should be declared disabled and not allowed to work. They can go on disability and stay out of public life. They shouldn’t be using public bathrooms that children may be in. It doesn’t matter if it’s a transgender man or a transgender woman because they will confuse children am either way. It’s grooming.

I doubt most conservatives have ever interacted with a trans person. Their entire impression of the community has been formed by loud activists who've told everyone they're a bigot and unworthy parents for doubting at all that going all in on any number of extreme positions or medical interventions is the best thing in the world. Predictably there will be backlash.

Trans people let those aggressive, hateful activists do their dirty work for over a decade and can't disavow them now.

You heard it here first folks, free speech advocates think that trans people should get together and vote on which people in the community aren't allowed to speak in public.
