I wanted more on his marriage to Sara but i get that came later in time. I think "Sara" is such a great love song and the absolute best divorce song. A brilliant lyricist.

Good movie. I read that BD was happy with Timothy Chalemet's performance.

according to multiple sources, the movie "A Complete Unknown" took around five years to make, primarily due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the SAG-AFTRA strike, during which time Timothée Chalamet, the lead actor playing Bob Dylan, deeply immersed himself in the role by studying Dylan's life and music extensively.
Key points about the lengthy production:

Chalamet's preparation: Chalamet dedicated a significant amount of time to studying Bob Dylan, even before filming began, which contributed to the overall production time.
Production delays: The pandemic and strikes significantly pushed back the filming schedule.
Director James Mangold: Mangold, the film's director, maintained contact with Chalamet throughout the delays, ensuring the actor remained committed to the role

Do they like other singers from that era or nothing from the 60s? BD evolved a lot as a musician so part of his relevancy is longevity, which may become more apparent to your teens as they mature in our rapidly changing world .

Many young people now prefer listening to vinyl recordings and it is easy to buy vinyl record players as younger music lovers discovered how clean the sound is.

Some people opine that Dylan appeals less to younger generations than other classic rock artists such as The Beatles or Queen because his songs are Less catchy, more political, less structured, more introspective, less melodic, and more minimalistic.

Maybe if PPs teens read some of BD’s lyrics, they might appreciate his poetic song writing gifts …

Yes, Chalamet worked on it for 5 years, but it was all shot this year, so the idea that his voice is rusty in the beginning of the movie because it took 5 years to make isn’t right.

Not sure why you are being pedantic about this since the context was responding to question “How was Chalamet’s singing?”

None the less.

The movie took five years to make.

For whatever reason: for the first half the movie, I wished they had used BD’s real music and got TC to lip sync. Only by the second half did I feel like TC hit his stride and was convincing as BD the singer.

TC’s acting was convincing throughout as BD the artistic enigma but wish we had gotten a better sense of BD the human. Probably would have been hard as TC did not get to meet him during filming and only attended two concerts so all he had to go off was the public image.

TC is clearly a gifted actor. I hope he and Ed Norton get Oscar noms. Also whoever created the retro Greenwich Village film sets.

I saw it yesterday. It was well made and evocative. It could have used a bit more of an edit to bring the storyline, such as it was, into focus.

The acting and cinematography were excellent.

Some entertainers & politicians seem to be kept aloft because lots of the cool people praise them, & many others are hesitant to contradict them out of fear of appearing uncool.

When a famous singer can’t sing very well, a famous comedian isn’t funny, or a politician keeps getting elected despite never improving anything, some people are likely to put them in this category.

It's not about "singing well", it's rock&roll.
