“It ain’t me babe” - Dylan apologized in 2022 for using machine to autograph books advertised as hand signed

At least he had the grace to apologize …

Not the hugest Dylan fan, TOTALLY loved the movie!

Chalamet was excellent. I stopped thinking of him as an actor about 10 minutes in, and just sat back and enjoyed.

The ol’ I-had-vertigo defense. Right. Wonder why an army of DAs, AGs, & FBI didn’t obsess over this for a few years. Oh, right, they were busy surveilling public school parents & framing a certain ex-prez.

The movie was excellent. I really enjoyed it. I am a BD fan but I went with my husband who doesn't like BD and he also loved it.

Not interested. Not an interesting musician for some of us.

Sorry. Just not interested. And I consider myself a pretty lively person.

You're missing out. It's a fascinating depiction of a time and place (NYC's folk scene in the village in the early to mid 60s).

Lively but yet dull to shut out such genius. Sorry for you.

But, I mean, the movie didn't really give us much insight into why. As soon as he actually got famous he freaked out, but then he kept on pursuing fame and and loved that celebrity lifestyle. He certainly is a lyrical genius, but he doesn't come across as a good person. Or very empathetic or kind to the many women he screwed over.

The point is he's an artist and he puts art above all else. (And as far as selfish artists go, he's actually a pretty good guy, he's not known to be misogynistic or violent or beating up waiters in fancy hotels.)

This was my takeaway - he is an artist who got trapped by the cult of celebrity. I'm not a huge Dylan fan but loved the movie.

Maybe that's why it's called "A Complete Unknown" besides being a song lyric. He's kind of inscrutable and sometimes seems rather shallow. He's devoted to music and tours constantly and that's his life. In many ways he doesn't have a lot of depth. But then again, he writes a song like Sara.

Dylan is a genius. You probably don't get it

I might not get it. I am a classically trained pianist and have played Chopin, Between, etc. the hardest pieces in addition to studying composition, harmony, accompaniment, you name it.
I think his lyrics are great, I just don't like the wailing sounds of the voice.

Agree, he doesn't have a good singing voice.
Neither did David Bowie, but Bowie wasn't whiny.

What? David Bowie had a beautiful voice. -NP

Nyc is a magnet for aholes. It was then, & still is. “Look at me! I’m in New York, so I must be special!”

I love that someone else out there loves the Sara song as much as I do.
